Obama to honor McCain on inauguration eve

By that logic, if you voted for Bush, you are responsible for tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis who have died during the war there.

No, sorry it doesn't. When I voted for Bush I had no idea that we would go to war.

When someone voted for Obama they knew exactly where he stood on abortion (and if they didn't shame on them for not finding out!).

I have a lot of mixed feelings about the war. I honestly wish it never took place and that not one person was killed or injured because of it. I also wish that Saddam hadn't been such a mad man and that he hadn't ruled his country in such a horrific fashion. But the war is something that wasn't a factor in my vote. There is no such claim you can make about the issue of abortion.

No, she didn't. I would be greatly pessimistic about the future of the United States if Sarah Palin was about to become vice president and only a heartbeat away from the presidency. She proved that she was clearly not ready for prime time politics. That cannot be denied and still be a credible poster.

As far as discussing the OP, I'm glad that he is honoring them, but it's just another politician blowing sunshine.

I hope and pray that President-Elect Obama succeeds and that we all succeed!

 

Amen Matt, we were at peace. There was no talk of war from the Republican candidate nor even from Al Gore. It was the Clinton Administration that had been leading up to rhetoric regarding regime change in Iraq. Mr Bush if he talked about it at all (regime change) only hinted at it. Al Gore wanted to tax BTU's, continue abortion and save the polar bear.

For my vote in 2000, I voted for the chance to stem the tide of the blood that flowed from the abortion mills while using the money taken from me and the gay issues that the Clinton administration wanted to implement. Then just less than 9 months into his Presidency I was in the insurance office making a payment. My agent had his tv on to CNN and was watching the event that just happened. As I tuned to see, the second jet had made it's turn and then before my unbelieving eyes slammed into the second building. One of my immediate thoughts was "Thank the Lord that Al Gore was not in office".

My vote in 2004 was more against John Kerry than a vote for 'W'. I had become worried about the war and was even one of the first voices that said Donald Rumsfeld had to go. I do believe that Saddam had to go. He attacked his neighbors, murdered and tortured his own people and it was proven that he had WMDs. He used them on his neighbors and his countrymen. And was a continuing threat to hold the world's oil supply in ransom.

After he was taken down, several terrorist were found in safe harbor in Iraq (the master mind of the Achille Laurel affair for one that comes to mind). Stores of counterfeit dollars (in the billions) were found in his palaces. These are just a few of the reasons that I felt the war in Iraq was justified.

Now that Gen. Pretreious(sp?) has done what Rumsfeld was unwilling to do, we can finally see the exit door from the Iraqi field of battle. :godisgood: I don't look for Obama to remove our troops anytime soon, though I do see him ordering a major draw down in Iraq and a build up in Afghanistan. Which needs to be done and I will support him for that. Watch out, he may do this through a draft.

Now that Obama is going to honor McCain, who was a staunch supporter of the war, might just be an indication that my take on the continuing war is valid.

 

Politics.

Obama knows McCain will sell out his fellow Republicans on key issues at key times.
