    Obama Wins Endorsement of Government Employees Union

    Washington (AP) - The president of the American Federation of Government Employees says the influential union is endorsing Democrat Barack Obama for president.

    AFGE President John Gage -- a superdelegate to the Democratic National Convention -- says he will also personally back Obama. The union endorsement gives the Illinois senator fresh momentum toward capturing the nomination.

    Do you think it is fair to link Obama to what his step-grandmother says?

    I certainly don't think that is is becoming to engage in guilt by association toward the possible next president of the United States. :BangHead:

    You are the one that brought up the, "guilt by association" link to the prior post.
    I see nothing in the post by the poster that makes that statement. Just a link to a grandmother and a statement about her faith. Would you rather we not know this? By your post, apparently so.

    Associations are every bit part of looking into the character of a person as anything else. This is a standard used by many agencies when involved in a hiring process, ie the FBI, CIA, local police department etc. Dismissing his associations is nothing more than political deflection. A smoke sceen. Truth is his associations areas much a legitimate issue as anything else. Even Obama has admitted as much.
