How many of the following phrases do you believe we will hear in his upcoming speech?

1." Invest" ( code word for unfettered spending)
    2. "Americans hurting" (emotional appeal for unfettered spending)
    3. "Step up" ( code word for agreeing with his unfettered spending)
    4. "Party above the country" (code word for those who oppose his unfettered spending)
    5. "Work together" (code for agree with his unfettered spending)
    6. "Partisan bickering" (code and pejorative for those who oppose his unfettered spending)

Oh, I think all of them will appear. And I love your interpretations.

Another good question is--how many times will he say them?

    And let's not forget these:

"I inherited ____________ (fill in current problem)
    "Let me be clear"
    "Change isn't easy"
    "I'm working hard"
"It's time to get serious about the deficit"
    "pay their fair share"
"be willing to listen to each other"
"the ways of Washington must change"
"we can build a more hopeful America"
    "put people back to work"
"My policies have saved "X" number of jobs"
    "but we can do more"
"we'll have to make hard choices"
    "the stakes couldn't be higher"

I had already forgotten his buzzphrase from the latest state of the Union address and had to look it up. (Actually I had forgotten it 2 minutes after the speech ended.) It was: "Win the future." I wonder if he'll bring that one out of mothballs?

What you will NOT hear is "import duty on consumer goods."

It is "L-L-L-L-L-Let me be clear." :tongue3:

heard a good line the other day:

In the 80s we had Reagan, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope.

Today we have Obama, no cash and no hope.
