Obama's town hall meeting from the get-go didn't pass the "smell test." The questions were too perfect. And, of course, that huge crowd was there and yet no one had any tough questions.

Well, now, that precious 11 year-old girl, who had the question/comment:

Well, now...we're finding out some details:
    • The eleven year-old's question wasn't so spontaneous. The Boston Globe says, "Kathleen Manning Hall, Julia’s mother, was shocked when her daughter said she wanted to ask a question. They wrote it down beforehand, and Julia didn’t miss a beat when Obama called on her."
    • Manning Hall has donated thousands of dollars to Obama, as has her law firm.
    • Obama really wanted us to know there were no plants in the audience...Obama said: “I don’t want people saying I just have a bunch of plants in here.”
    • "Myrmidons matter" has their panties in a big wad that "the plant" was pointed out. So now...pointing out that the 11 year-old girl's question (and Obama's subsequent calling on her) was staged...well now, that's attacking a child! (http://mediamatters.org/blog/200908120003)
And people wonder why Obama's numbers are slipping...and why there is no confidence in our government officials. It's because many of them won't address issues that real folks are dealing with...and furthermore, under the guise of "caring," events are staged. You can only lie so long before folks get sick of it...

    Another double standard:

Fascist of the House Nancy Pelosi, who calls protestors "evil," "unAmerican," and accuses them of "carrying swastikas," has flapped her botox-paralyzed jaws nonstop about people who protest.

However...three years ago, Pelosi was conducting a town hall meeing about the Iraq war. So then...well, I'll just let Neal Boortz describe it. (SOURCE)

Chilling. What a sorry excuse for a public servant.

I wonder who here will defend that despicable woman, and her despicable actions? Hopefully nobody...

    Still more fake-ness...

Democrat and professional racist (and Michael Jackson worshipper) Sheila Jackson Lee (she was the person who held a town hall meeting and then made a phone call as she was being asked questions) a question from a "physician." The Houston Chronicle reported on this...

Fortunately, someone who actually does research ( SOURCE ), discovered the following:

Suspicious, (LA area blogger) Patterico began digging, finding the following in short order...(for some reason, the Chronicle didn't see the need to check facts):
    • "The AMA Doctor Finder doesn’t list any physician named Roxana Mayer."
    • "Nor does the Texas Medical Association."
    • "Linked In lists a Roxana Mayer — who, according to LinkedIn, is slated to graduate from the University of Houston with a Masters in Social Work in 2010."
    • "However, the University of Houston lists a student by the name of Roxana Mercedes Mayer."
Here is some corresponding Q and A with the fraudulent plant:

Q (Patterico blog): If I understand what’s going on here, you’re not a doctor, but you play one at town hall meetings. Is that about it?

A (Mayer): "Do you mean play a doctor like you play a journalist? Then the answer is no. But who knows, that was only my first town hall meeting–even though I was a delegate. If I go to another one, which I seriously doubt because my husband is already extremely annoyed, then maybe I’ll play a plumber."

    Here's the photo that ran:

    And the caption:

I'm not sure who looks dumber...Congresswoman Lee, or the Houston Chronicle.

But this is no surprise. Everyone knew this guy was a fraud when he was elected. I bet there is not one honest person here who truly thought Obama was going to be a good president. There is no way. I think many were hopeful, but it was extreme naivete. It didn't take much to see that he had no experience, bad ideas, and was surrounding himself with bad people. He just doesn't have the intellectual heft and certainly doesn't have the moral gravity that it takes for this job. The fact that he plants questions in an audience should be the least of our concerns. He knows what the questions are. He just doesn't want to deal with them.

You are correct. There are several dishonest people around here that thought he would be a good president though.

I thought he would be the least harmful of the two viable candidates and still do.

So, despite clear evidence as to Obama and other's obvious lying to the American people in these so called town hall meetings all you can say is, "I believe President Obama is a good presiden, much better than he predecessor." Yeah, keep drinking that kool-aide.

Where is your defense of these supposed open town hall meeting that have proven to be not so open and not so honest?

I still believe he is doing an excellent job considering the opposition and death threats against him. If any president had license to hide in the WH and do nothing it would be him but instead you see him out front pitching his ideas. Even if you don't agree with his politics you have to applaud his relentless persistence.

RBell, I think the double standard is in this thread. When it was pointed out that groups like Freedom Now was busing in people for the town halls you guys said that their passion was still "spontaneous and genuine".

When Heather Blish, who was the vice chair of the Republican Party of Kewaunee County, worked on the John Gard campaign, and was a member of Republican Party for Kagen’s district, as well as the Republican Party of Wisconsin, and the Republican National Committee, we were to accept she was "just a mom from a few blocks away” and “not affiliated with any political party". Just a mom asking a spontaneous and passionate question.

So the double standard I see is the implication in this thread by implying that out of the hundreds of thousands of people who campaigned across the nation for Obama, one wouldn't come to one of his town halls unless part of a plan and her child might not have been moved to ask a question unless it was prearranged. This all had to be a complete setup.

    Good luck with that Sir...

    A politician lying??? Where?

And are we to accept the scare of death panels and euthanasia threats by his opposition? Is that more credible?

    Need I bring up WMD's?

Yes...let's all remember: No president has ever had any threats or opposition until Obama. Read up, and you'll find out that Obama's "threat level" is about normal. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Why would I admire anyone who is dishonest? Obama has a "town hall meeting" to "discuss the issues" and then stacks the deck, and calls on a ringer to ask him a "tough question." What's honorable about that? What's honest about that? What's persistent about that? I find Obama's actions lazy (the path of least resistance), dishonest (as shown above)...not to mention the innumerable outright lies:
    • "You won't have to wait in line for your coverage."
    • "This will save money."
    • "There will be no decline in service."
    • "If you like your healthcare, you can keep it."
    • The attacks on the insurance industry...as if that is the only problem (funny how he can't talk about tort reform or the problems trial lawyers have caused). His denigrating of the insurance companies as evil is a misleading and oversimplified assessment of the "crisis."
So no...your "chosen one" hasn't exactly passed this test with flying colors.

Welcome to the land of reason. And yes...I did have to edit your post to make it reasonable...but don't you like what I've done with the place?

    You're welcome.

Fabricate??? Just stating the facts Rev...

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...reats-a-day-stretching-US-Secret-Service.html

Sure they all get death threats, but no president in history has received close to the number of threats Obama gets. I am surprised the secret service is letting him out of the WH.

Membership in extremist groups has risen to a level unseen since the civil rights days. And it will only get worse as he moves his agenda and some feel they have to "take back their America" as if the rest of us aren't American's.

Read my response to Rev, you are wrong, he gets 400 times the number bush received. He gets a minimum of 30 per day and it's rising.

This is all speculation and no facts. You don't know if those town halls were stacked or if the little girl was a ringer. I don't think a person is dishonest just because RBell doesn't believe him.

Now the town hall yesterday in CO was clearly not a stacked crowd and he did get the tough questions from the right. I was proud to see the nation in a legitimate debate yesterday instead of fear mongering and telling lies to scare people.

However in the final analysis, I don't believe one mind has been changed in any of these town halls. Those who went against the plan left against the plan. Those who came in favor left in favor. So the "tough" question to try and stump him is all for show.

    Truth hurts doesn't it?

Well then, you're oblivious to the shrinking support for this plan. It's all over the news.

    Note: I said "news." MoveOn.org isn't.

The shrinking support is for a plan that doesn't exist. There is no "Obamacare Plan" so the jury is still out until a plan is actually introduced. If you recall, he was loosing support and had plenty of negatives going out about his SCOTUS nomination but those numbers recovered when he actually nominated somebody.

He is also loosing many on the left because they feel his idea's, the public option is too centrist. Remember, the far left and the base of his party wants a single payer system so the public option is really a compromise to them. To see him move from their compromise to co-ops was the last straw.

So apparently only press outside the US knows about Obama's Death threats. All Presidents live with death threats. Obama is not out of the ordinary. Is there an echo in here?

    400 times the amount???

I just picked one article, there is no secret to the number of death threats he getting but it doesn't get much national press for good reason, we don't want to encourage somebody to go through on one and we sure don't want to support the threats.

LeBuick, your source for this 30 a day number is a single person who wrote it in a book. All the references to it that I could find on the internet go back to that same book.

BTW - 400% is 4 times more not 400 times more.  :tongue3:
