Obedience

    I have seen, countless times, that some here believe that only the "elect" can obey spiritual things, but the "dead' still do obey things according to te promptings of the Spirit, regardless, such as obeying the magistrates, etc.

    So why is it I get the idea that those same people are "blind" to the facts that anyone can be obedient to the Spirit in regards to and including salvation?:praying:

    The belief is that only the elect will be so moved by Holy Spirit so as to come to salvation. Although everyone else does whatever it is that God has preordained for them to do, (and this is for the benefit of the elect) only the elect will be called to salvation, and will therefore respond in faith without fail.

    with all due respects, please note, with regards to the second part of your post, that not all the Calvinists that post in this board, believe in the Absolute Predestination of things.

    One does not need to be elect, regenerated, or saved, in order to obey the law, the governors, those who rule over them secularly and politically and even religiously.

    Then why isn't Jacob ever referred to as "elect". Then tell me why is it only Israel is ever called the elect?:praying:

    We all would have to say "yes" since Adam had obviously died spiritually at his first bite, but then that would not say that he could not respond to the Spirit when he hid in his nakedness. Hmmm, seems the dead can respond to the Spirit afterall!!!

    I guess it would do not good to pray for the rest who are not the "elect"?

    If we believe that ever one here is of course the "elect". :)

    Here are some of mine...

    How then can an Ethiopian's naturally black skin be changed ? or the leopard change his spots ? Only supernaturally.

    How can one born in sin, conceived in sin, and accustomed to sin, respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, except one be born from above first ?

    Those who received Jesus when He came unto His own, tell me, did they receive him of their own will because they chose to obey the Holy Spirit by their own power ?

    They were already a "prepared" people who received Jesus when He came. They were the "remnant".

    If you can show me how a sinner/ "elect" by your estimation, can be holy and without blame before he was in Christ........:praying:

    The Remnant refers to the Elect of Israel. But this speaks of the spiritual Israel/ those who receive the Gospel, which is open to all the world. the Remnant is decided upon by those who receive the Gospel, not that it is decided who can and only can receive the Gospel is the Remnant.

    It's still "whosoever will":praise: :Fish: :praise:

    In the realm of obedience, which is better than sacrifice, then the will which obeys the Gospel is better than the supposed sacrifice that only saves a certain people as the Calvinist believes.

    It is up to the will of a man to obey, or disobey, else man has no will and the Word of God is a lie. And it aint!!!:praise::Fish: :praise:

    I just wanted to remind everyone why Saul was dethroned: He was going to sacrifice instead of being obedient, and the sacrifice would have been great.
