If the big three are laying off workers in the city of Detroit that means there are alot of auto workers that need work, right? Then why doesnt Toyota, Honda and other Japanese car companies build their factories in Detriot because there would be many skilled and fully trained workers available?

Suppose Toyota built a factory in Detroit, would a laid off union (say, Ford) worker consider going to work for, non-union Toyota, at a lesser wage; or would he wait for Ford to re-hire him?

How about unrealistic wages and inflated benefits compliments of the UAW?

Who do the workers work for? Seems that in almost every news clip and video showing auto plants I've seen UAW emblems all over the workers as if they worked for the union. But, it's not the union who is providing the job, the wages, nor the benefits. It's Ford, GM, Dodge, etc. Seems the unions and the workers have forgotten this.

Taxes. Michigan is overrun with high taxes. I won't locate there either, though I have lots of relatives who haven't escaped and my birth certificate claims I was born there.
