    Hi Everyone,

In an effort to consolidate similar threads, I am making this an "official" thread where members of Baptist Board can post things they see need to be fixed, could be improved upon, or have new ideas for implementation (new features etc).

I will do my best to update this as often as possible.

    Thanks,

    Sean

    1. Go fish the old software out of the trash and reinstall it.

    2. Show me the common courtesy of telling me why my request to join the Baptist Men's Forum was ignored.

    3. Remove trolls so that BaptistBoard doesn't end up the same stinking cesspool as CARM.

    1) The new software is here to stay. It brings several improvements to the forum.

    2) This does not belong in this thread.

    3) This does not belong in this thread either.

I like the new software. It drew me back.

Questions about the men's forum should be dealt with privatly

How do you get rids of trolls? They tend to be anyone who disagrees with various groups.

A quote button short cut in the menu bar just above the posting window, perhaps in between the Indent button and the Smilie button would be most welcome. This will help posters by not requiring them to type out the words quote and /quote in brackets [ ] when they are breaking up a post they are responding to into smaller chunks of responses.

    Expanded assortment of smilies.

The ability to edit posts in all forums. Don't think it is possible in this forum, for example.

    More robust search engine.

A consistent way to tell if you've posted in a thread when you are looking at the subforum index. Right now it shows your avatar next to the thread title, but apparently only for a day or so. After a while the avatar no longer shows up. I know about the "Watched Threads" feature but I wish there was an indicator next to the thread titles to show if you had previously posted in that thread.

Don't mind JDF, he's still flying the confederate flag.

To an extent you are correct, but there are some (I could name 2 specifically) who either play the old "My daddy can whup your daddy" philosophy and/or demand you answer THEIR questions, while rarely, if ever, answer questions posed to them, and mis-quote others to create straw-men that they then attack.
I do not have the skill to portray verbally these two, but a few others could take what I've said and expound to more accurately describe the noted two - if interested!
Virtually every discussion involving these two deteriorates rapidly into anything not resembling the OP.

I'll check into the quote system.

Smilies - Adding an extra 100+ of these today. :)

Robust Search Engine - It is almost impossible to edit the search engine for XenForo. The issue is after moving software to XenForo I do not believe you can search for old threads that were made while on VBulletin. I can check into that, however, worse case, this will sort it self out after a few months since we will not be changing software for years to come.

Is it possible to have a color break for every other post on a page. For example, my post would be light gray, the next white, the next light gray, etc.

    (Background, not text)

I like the new software. It is a great improvement.

When will the search function be up and running to snuff. So far it doesn't work for me.

Apparently the search function will only work for posts made since the software switch. I've done a couple of test searches and that appears to be the case.

Is this right? Surely Sean can give us the ability to search the archives.

Ouch! There was a LOT of excellent information in those old posts. Is there a way to access them using other software?

There is a quote button. If you look on the tool bar to the right of the media button there is a plus sign in a box. Click on that and a drop down menu with appear and one of the options is "quote".

    Nice find, Rev!

I also like the strikethrough feature, in that same area.
