    Enough gloom, folks!

    We are commanded to "Rejoice evermore." So get busy doing it!!!

    My man didn't win. But check it...

    • God's on His throne. He's lasted through lots of presidents, good and bad.
    • My family still loves me. Their love isn't predicated upon who's in office.
    • It's beautiful outside today. So far, no one has figured out how to tax that.
    • My kids woke up in a good mood. I choose to do so as well.
    • My church meets tonight for prayer and Bible study. That's still legal, and we'll do it even if it's not.
    • I got in my car, it cranked right up, and I got to work (I have a job!) this morning.
    • I have privileges and possessions my grandparents could only dream of, and many in the world will never realize.
    • I got to vote yesterday. I was outvoted, but my vote counted, and no one shot or stabbed me for voting as I did.
    Fellas and gals, let's get quit tripping over our bottom lips and start being thankful!!!

    I never was sad - I believe that God knows what is best for His children better than we do.

    Maybe in a few days, rbell.

    I appreciate what you're trying to do to encourage us, but for myself, I need to take some time to grieve and reflect and ponder. It has nothing to do with being thankful or not. So, please pardon me and be gentle with me for a few days. I'm not quite myself right now, and I need some time to heal from the betrayal I feel from my fellow believers.

    I'm with you. Besides, I'm so burned out on politics that I basically felt nothing during the whole thing. It's really kind of a blessing.

    I am disappointed, but not discouraged. Why should I be sad? My joy should not come from some administration in Washington but from my delight in the Person of Jesus Christ.

    If I am discouraged or saddened, its because I fail to be completely satisfied in Christ.
    Besides that- I would take Obama over almost any of the Latin American administrations.

    Only someone on the 'outside' could get that one :)

    Obama would be a conservative here :). And you know what? We survive and the church moves on.

    He would be here as well. If Americans want to see how far liberalism can take a nation, they need to live overseas for a time. And amen, we survive and the church moves on! God is not hindered by bad governments.

    When Reagan left office I cried like a little baby----------because he had become an American hero to me and I hated to see him gone

    When George Bush Sr lost his reelection bid to that goat from Arkansas----I cried again like a little baby----because of how the news media treated him(Bush) during the whole ordeal--------I wouldn't give you two cents for biasd media

    But I couldn't cry for this election----my man didn't make it in---but I didn't cry----I didn't want Obama to win and to establish some form of liberal socialized democracy to US government---but he's in and ain't nothin' I can do about it except take his name up in prayer to Heaven's Highest power---the Lord Jesus Christ

    I learn one thing positive-----the spiritual world of heaven supercedes the physical world of the US-------the White House is ruled by the Father's House-----I just pray that US citizens will take their eyes off of Obama as "Savior" and get their eyes on the only Savior, the Lord Jesus.

    I still live in the freedom of the United States constitution------we still vote by ballot behind screened booths------while other nations of the world vote by machine gun

    Although my man didn't get in------I still have to lift the other man in prayer and that I will do

    Happy to hear that!

    Yep, over here we have a prime minister named "Asou," literally pronounced, "Ah So!" [IMG] And that's about what I think of Obama. :smilewinkgrin:

    Japan has: cradle to grave health care like Hillary wanted; abortion on demand paid for as part of that health care with no dissenting voices; cross dressers on all the variety shows.... Well, let's stop there. But we still have freedom of religion, and that's the important one. :saint:

    "His Eye Is On the Sparrow"
    Civilla D. Martin

    Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
    Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heav’n and home,
    When Jesus is my portion? My constant Friend is He:
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

    I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
    For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

    “Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
    And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
    Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

    I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
    For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

    Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
    When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
    I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
    His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.

    I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free,
    For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
