NEW YORK — MSNBC said Sunday it is replacing Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as co-anchors of political night coverage with David Gregory, and will use the two newsmen as commentators.

The change reflects tensions between the freewheeling, opinionated MSNBC and the impartial newsgatherers at NBC News. Throughout the primaries and summer, MSNBC argued that Olbermann and Matthews could serve as dispassionate anchors on political news nights and that viewers would accept them in that role, but things fell apart during the conventions.

Great. I like to bounce off different networks to get a wide range of opinion, but the Obama mania on MSNBC is too much.

Agreed. They have lost credibility as a cable news network. Probably this decision came too little too late.

Yup. Two guys who didn't even try to hide their hatred.

You evidently don't watch either of them very much. I watch them almost every night, and I have heard no hatred.

    You're kidding, right?

Matthews at least pretended to be neutral on occasion. Olberman never hid his bias (some would say hatred, even) for Republicans, conservatives, Bush, et al.

Olberman was just plain mean. He is not a journalist...he is a commentator. Not a very good one at that.

I enjoy getting a pretty wide spectrum of viewpoints news-wise (when I get to watch news, I'll watch CNN and Fox)...but to say KO was a credible newsman is a huge stretch.

Olbermann is the "worst reporter, in the world."

I know some never see any hatred from Olbermann, they're too busy trying to find it elsewhere.

Maybe that's because you are blinded by your own hatred? That would be my guess. I can only assume that someone like you who associates with and cheers on liberals and the liberal media (who by and large hate or look down upon Biblical Christianity) must feel the same way?

I watched Olbermann on occasion and saw nothing but hatred and bias. To claim he has none is perhaps due to being possessed with the same thing he has. Mathews was not as bad, but was still pretty bad. Neither of them are good to be anchors. Olbermann should have never left ESPN. He was much better there.

    Hyperbole.

I think this applies to many on both sides of the aisle.

Sean Hannity has to be the worst.
Olbermann will just have to settle for the Miss Cogeniality award.

It appears that Olbermann and Hannity are opposites, but both are getting rich doing it. In fact, the worse thing for either of them is for the tension between the two parties to dissipate somewhat.

Unless you can show where the poster has used the words "hate" or "hatred," then your guess would be wholly and completely wrong. Do yourself a favor and stick to what people are actually writing, rather than your perception of what they are writing.

    1. Stop assuming.
    2. Please stop using the word "hate," especially when nobody is using it.

As for Olbermann and Matthews, if there is a liberal media, then why were they taken off the job? The liberal media, if it existed, would not be removing them from the coverage.

    Regards from a proud LIBERAL,
    BiR

By the way, did Hannity ever offer an admission about his misrepresentation of Dr. Hammesfahr?

BIR, I can only assume that anyone who enjoys, respects and loves listening to members of the media who are hostile to Biblical Christianity, must feel the same way, or at a minimum, be more enthralled with liberal ideology than Biblical Christianity.

When has sean Hannity ever admitted when he was wrong? He might lose his job if he ever did that.

Anyone here mind I lift some quotes from this thread to use in my study of fascism in an another thread? I think some of the replies here might be good examples of "scapegoating".

Some look as though they might even be good examples of the Goering factor too.

"All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked,
and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the
country to danger. It works the same in any country." Hermann Goering.

Whatever Olbermann is I agree with him about the republican's seemingly endless exploitation of the 9/11 tragedy for political gain and the accumulation of power. It's just sickening. And I have to seriously wonder about people who defend it's use.

Olbermann would never go after the democrats as hard as he has the republicans. That's what makes him way way less than credible in my book. Not because he's a "Bush hater". Democrats are just as guilty as the republicans when it comes to exploiting fears and emotions...case in point "global warming" and that's just one example.

"All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked"

Here is where you comparison fails.

Everyone saw the attack on the day the planes were used as missles against the innocents in the World Trade Center.

    I'm surprised you missed that.
