I only take the cell out on the road. NOBODY knows my number except wife and kids. Only call for emergencies and checking in on trips.

We only use the cell for my wife calling me when she gets to work and when she's leaving because of the distance she travels. One night before we had the cell, she got off work at 3pm and wasn't home by 6pm, so I had to go looking for her. She had broken down five miles from work, and over 40 miles from home. She was sitting in the car when I drove up and said "it's about time!" LOL We went and got the cell the next weekend.

I think Cheryl's is surgically attached to her head sometimes.

Vivian doesn't usually talk on hers very long. Neither she nor I are "phone people".

I'm with you Tony. I have 250 minutes a month with rollover. At this point, I could talk about 36 straight hours and still have minutes left over.

The funny thing about ours, Gib, is that Viv has over 3,500 minutes per month and free long distance. She might use it to call the long distance, but because of battery life, she usually just uses the AT&T card. It comes out to be about 2 cents a minute with it, and we don't have to worry about the dropped calls.

Is it as easy as dialing down the middle, 1-800......?

LOL...Not with the card it isn't. You dial the # to AT&T, then you dial in your personal access code, and then they tell you to dial the number. It's saved us a good amount of money over what used to be our regular long distance carrier. We have to count pennies these days.

I don't have many folks outside my local calling area that I would call. I've got 7 cents a minute, no monthly fee. Our last bill was like $3 and some change.

Now Gib, you've called ME. [IMG] We had never had long distance service since moving here 5 years ago. Used 10-10-811. Bellsouth called us, offered us their unlimited long distance and if I accepted, I got my internet for $4.95 a month! We have 3 computers that are online under the same dial up for that $4.95 a month too. Of course, we can only have 2 online at the same time because we don't have DSL.

I had Bell South internet for a while, but wasn't really happy with them. We had two lines here so that we could both be online, or one online and another calling my wife's customers for Pre-Paid Legal. But, that ended up being far too expensive. When I had the second line put in, Bell South cut the unlimited long distance fearing I could allow others to use it. Talk about paranoid. They didn't tell me they had cut it. They sent me a letter six weeks later saying to have it, I had to have unlimited long distance on the other line (another $36.00 here in TN). So, I told them to drop it. We also are paying my mother in laws bill in Augusta, GA, and she's supposed to have "Lifeline", which is reduced payments for the elderly at about $16.00....but every month we get a bill for over $35.00 because they don't honor their agreements. So, we have cut the second line, and soon, mom in law is going to have to take her own bill back over. I use ISP.com for my internet because I don't want to give Bell South any more business than I have to.

Diane-I did call you and one other who wants to remain anonymous. I guess they didn't want to kiss and tell. It was well worth the money talking to you both, but nothing compares to a face to face. I thought it was going to be a weird get-to-gether. You know, in the back of your mind, "Oh boy, where's the back door." But, I had a great time meeting you, Jim and Nick.

Augusta, Georgia, home of the Augustians. We have never been there. Do they have a red light?

Why not? On SSI, tourist go to Christ Church on the weekends, just to see the cemetary.

Augusta/Richmond County, GA is the second largest metropolitan area in GA, Gib. It's been like that for the past fifteen years. They are sucking up the surrounding counties just like Atlanta has done. Oh, and by the way, they are called "Augustans". ;)

Glad to see the distinction. Our Catholic brothers out here are Augustinians . . .
