Are women who are school teachers in authority over the men students? Are women pastors in authority over the men?

If God put's people in authority, are the women then considered to be in authority?

I know women have fought long and hard to put themselves in leadership roles. The bible says that God puts people in authority so even though the change of roles has taken place in areas such as government and church....isn't it God who has allowed this?

I still have a hard time dealing with a woman being in authority over a man.

I know that if we asked long and hard enough, God gives us what we want, even if that is not His idea of what is good for us. ( as in when he people demanded a king )

The scripture about women in authority are for being in church. Not on the job in a secular job.

It is a hard issue, in my opinion. Sometimes it seems to me that we too much separate church from non-church.
However, what I hear many Baptists saying is that any influence whatsoever = authority. And I don't think that any influence whatsoever is what is being forbidden.

I will start out by saying that i do not believe in female preachers, period.

But the biggest problem we are facing is not that there are women in places of authority over men (in the church...the secular world is a whole 'nuther ball of wax). The problem is that men are not willing to step up into the gap, take responsibility, and do the job.

Adam stood by as Eve took the forbidden fruit, adn today men are still standing there. Women have little or no choice but to step up into the positions that no man will take the responsibility for.

And that is what it boils down to...responsibility. Look around, and what do you see. Women with children, but no husband, because he will not take, or keep, responsibility. The bankruptcy courts are filled to overflowing, because no one wants to be responsible for their own actions. Americans want to define everything as an "addiction", becasue they do not want to take the responsibility of their actions as being sinful.

No, I am not being unmerciful. I am being blunt honest. We do not have many men in America anymore. Most of them have been replaced by jellyfish wearing the face of a man. I know, because at one time I was one of them.

Until the men of the church stand up and act like men, women will have to take positions of authority in the church. The fact that women tend to be more responsible and attentive to detail will make them indespensible to the church. But I know very few women who want to be thrust into authoritive positions unless there is no one else who will do it.

Man was created by God first. Woman was made from Adam's rib to be a helper to the man, not his replacement. It would be nice if the men started acting like that was the way it is supposed to be, instead of sitting by passively while the women carry the load.

    In Christ,

First off, there are no men students in school for the women teachers to be over. They're kids. Boys and not men. Second, there should be no women pastors. This goes against basic Bible guidelines concerning the roles of men and women within the church. Yes, women have fought long and hard to get into the leadership roles. But look at the results. The family unit hardly exists like it once did. Kids grow up all messed up because mom wasn't at home for them. Kids need that security and nurturing from their mothers. God allows women to be placed in positions of authority now for a couple of reasons. One, there is a shortage of qualified and willing men to fill these roles. Two, God does it to shame the men into repentance. Whenever we run things our own way and leave off from what God says, things go bad. Read the Bible. It says what it says. Women and men are equal. But, catch this if you can, we have different roles which should compliment the other, if done in a good and godly fashion. And that, in this case, means that women are not to have authority over men. Ever.
