Where was God the Son during the physical life of Jesus on earth?

Jesus, standing and talking with Nick at night, said, "And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."

Trying to explain it to a high schooler today. Thanks.

Where was God the Son during the physical life of Jesus on earth?? In Jesus as infinite but at the same time ---in Heaven as infinite! Something our finite minds cannot comprehend fully! How can one explain infinite to the finite???

I have always explained it in very simple to understand terms. It goes like this:

Let's say God is a cup of water. He pours some of himself into another cup = Jesus. When Jesus was born into this earth, that water was poured into a container (the earthly body). The Holy Spirit can be exampled by the water that represents God being boiled. The steam that comes off would represent the Holy Spirit.

All three come from the same source, just in different forms. My children understand the Trinity perfectly when I use this example.

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
1Jo 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Glory be to God almighty! [IMG]

    Check out the Greek.
Check out every major translation EXCEPT the KJV.
I think the KJV is wrong at John 3:13. Sorry.

Is there another verse (beside the questionable Jn 3:13) that teaches the OMNIPRESENCE of God the Son during the time Jesus was in physical body on earth?

    Thanks.
