One in Six Dollars of income comes from the Government

Let me repeat yet again: I am against all US Government benefit programs save those programs from which I benefit. :thumbs: I am against all US Government entitlement programs save those programs from which I benefit.

Maybe it did??? I was left behind to preach to the heathen what done missed the First Rapture of the Second Coming (so if they don't loose their head they will be raptured at the second rapture of the Second Coming. The second rapture of the Second Coming happens just before the start of the physical Millennial Messianic Kingdom -- when the Lord rules and cleans up the Global Warming problem.

Never forget, the government can give nothing that it doesn't take from someone. Now it is being taken from several generations . . . . if our economy last that long.

 

If the government dollars are providing goods and/or services more efficiently that private corps could provide the same goods and/or services then it is a good thing.

Would you all be happier if national defense was transferred from the US army to Blackwater - whatever they now call themselves?

 

Blackwater might have more reasonable rules of engagement, that is shoot the enemy before he shoots at you.

 

First of all - when private business is providing goods and services the goods and services are paid for by the recipient - not the taxpayer.

Secondly - defense of the nation is one of the few things that the Federal Government is actually charged to do by the Constitution.

Thirdly - if all goods and services are delivered by the government where do taxpayers get money to pay the taxes that the government will be collecting to pay for those goods and services?

Do you envision a utopia where everyone is provided all their wants and needs by the government and the only people with jobs are government employees?

 

Where were you in the early 1970s when we figured this?

When the % of the GNP thru the government = the % of the Government monies used to service the GND (gross National Dept): then the American Economy will fail. Both numbers met at 18% in 2009.

Little did we know that this would happen about at the half-life of the World's Oil. The world has used half the world's oil (25% of the half by the USofA) by probably 2010 - that is basicly 60 years: 1950-2010. Unless something is done we will be burning dirty coal by 2050 for all forms of transportation (well I guess sail ships will be run by renewable energy).

The primary problem with communism is that no one knows what anything costs or is worth. If the government competes with the private companies then the market will decide.

For example, few years ago Congress decided to put the printing of the budget up for bid. The Govt Printing Office one the bid at half the previous year's cost. It may not have been an evaluation but it demonstrated how the system could work.
