When I was in seminary, a professor told the story of a women's Sunday School Class gathering money to buy Bibles and teaching materials (in Spanish) for an unreached people group in Central America. The men who were to deliver the materials took a look at it as they were flying in the mountains, and started talking about how the people of the area did not speak Spanish, and what a waste of money it had been for the women to buy the materials for these people.

They decided to just cast the materials out of the plane and tell the women that they were delivered to the people.

Fast forward to 5-6 yrs later (this was in early 1950-51 or so), this same missionary went into the mountains to preach to a group of people that they thought were un-evangelized. They went into the village (which was Spanish speaking) and requested to preach the Gospel to the village. They were immediately refuted and stated that they worshipped their own God and that there was no need for them to preach. Upon investigation, the missionaries learned that several years earlier and huge bird (read here airplane) had flown over their village and several Bibles and Gospel materials had fallen out of the sky into the Village.

The end result was that almost the whole village had become Christian due to these materials being kicked out of the airplane by these well meaning missionaries which had been bought by the Women's Sunday School Class. The Village leader was serving as the lead pastor and Dr. Cad stated that it was amazing as to how much of the Bible that they understood and had correct.

    Biblical election at it's finest!

God's ways are not our ways!

And some vehemently declare that miracles no longer happen.
I personally think it just depends on where you look.

Guatemala/Honduras/Nicargua is all that I can remember.

He was a missionary to much of central America and it was about 1987 or so?

    Thanks
