I had someone tell me in another thread, that they only needed "one verse" to prove their point. Just how many false and heretical doctrines have been started under the "One Verse" fallacy? Now I will grant you that the Word of God is infallible and that no verse is innacurate, but taking one sentence out of a speach, a chapter, or a book can certainly be dangerous and alter the meaning. An obvious one is this: We certainly know we are not supposed to hate anyone, so this verse can not be considered "alone." If you have some examples of how one verse could be easily mistaken when taken out of context or know a doctrine that is based upon one verse, please share it with me here. Thanks ~Lorelei PS. Please try not get side tracked arguing over whether or not the doctrine of a particular verse is wrong or not. I simply want to know if they are used alone to represent an entire doctrine.
