But if you'll observe my scenario more closely, you'll see that we have been repeatedly guilted into going along with changes we don't really support.

My question is - how much is enough?

Let me put it this way -- is a full third of my income enough taxation? Will you and the government EVER get enough of my money?

No, they wanted change, but they wanted the right kind of change. You see, you think "change" is good in and of itself. It isn't. Not just any change will do. It must be good change. No one at all should have voted for this bill because it was bad change. You don't do something bad just to get along. That's bad politics and bad character.

The difference is between wanting change, and not wanting to be short-changed.

O yes, you are sooo right. There are plenty of things I would love to change. I would love to go back to original constitutional principles, but that sure ain't the direction we're headed.

He is steadily losing support in every way measurable. You know it and everyone knows it.

All the above is a bunch of [inappropriate language snipped]. The Constitution ended Bush's presidency not the leftists.

Great analysis in post #17. Unfortunately it was way over the dems/liberals/leftists heads.

    OOOhhhhh....O'ldReg uses naughty words! Shocking!!

But still true if you consider that although Bushie boy was term limited, the GOP candidate promised to give us more of the same, to continue the misadventures in Iraq. McSame indeed!

Is that the key to keeping that word from being censored-- capitalizing it? Or has the mod just not had time so far?

    <edited-LE>.

Bush won the war in Iraq in spite of the resistance from the unpatriotic democrats/leftists.

I think you've got to admit-- he's got a head on his shoulders. Saddam doesn't.

But you guys are currently complaining about how we're going to pay all this back. If we cut taxes too much, how can government afford to run? We have two wars to finance ya know?

Are you serious, naive, or worse. We still have troops in Japan and Germany, 60 years after we laid a whupping on them.

We won the war when Bush was POTUS? Why didn't he bring the troops home then?

He made progress, he was on the way to winning, he toppled Saddam.... All those things could be said, but I don't think you can say we won the war until it's over....

Troops are still dying so it's not over...

I will repeat what I said to LeBuick:

"Are you serious, naive, or worse. We still have troops in Japan and Germany, 60 years after we laid a whupping on them."

Also my understanding is that Americans were still killed in Germany after the surrender. 60 years after the occupation it is unlikely that American troops would be killed.

You are the naive one... You have your mind made up, you're always in the right it would seem from your posts, so continue to believe what you will.

We have NOT won a war in Iraq, made progress, making progress, getting there, but we have not won it yet.
