    Please help.

One of my youth said she had met a fellow on the internet. She thinks he's real nice, and I think she's getting a crush on him.

Do you know of any programs or packages that I can use to warn of the dangers of internet stalkers without seeming to single her out?

Perhaps something I can send home to parents?

I know there are tons of other sites, but a first-attempt search turned up this URL.

Maybe it can help you make those impersonal, generic guidelines for online behavior.

BTW, the key words I used at Yahoo.com were:
online child stalker (no quotes, no commas, just the spaces in the search field).

    http://www.ccmostwanted.com/cyberstalk.htm

There were 4,790 results returned, besides this site. Many of them look informative, and helpful, and on topic for your question.

    Hope this helps.

I haven't actually looked at it myself, so I don't know if it is any good, but Lifeway has something for children on using the interet. I am certain you could pull it up at their website, www.lifeway.com.

I don't know all the details of the situation but here are a couple of ideas:

    1) Do a class discussion on why we DON'T meet people on the internet because we don't know who they are.

    2) Make sure she hasn't given out any personal information.

    3) If it sounds like this "fellow" is coming to town to meet her then its time to get the authorities involved.

    4) As far as a good website for information on the dangers of cyberstalking- there is a ton of info out there- try these:
    http://www.isafe.org/stalk.htm

    Until Next Post, Adam
