Dan Carlin does a podcast called 'Hardcore History.' LINK

The current podcast is called 'Radical Thoughts.' In it he deals with how fear has impacted history, especially American history in the 20th century. It is a fascinating perspective in the light of current event.

It is long, but no longer than an American football game. You might plan a couple of hours or listen to it in parts.

If anyone else is willing to give it a go and I would love to have a discussion of the topic.

Be warned - you will want to be a 'real' history buff to tackle this one.

    Sounds interesting.

Yes, American politicians play and indeed encourage on fear. Oh, cut out one tank from the military and the world will end. Raise taxes on the rich or corporations and we will all starve to death. Of course they know it isn't true, but fear buys votes.
