Who says that Canada isn't getting less and less New World and more and more European? Not only do they have same-sex marriage and Islamic law in Ontario domestic courts, but now they are coming after Rover.

What next?

Sorry, same-sex marriage was inevitable with our Canadian Bill of Rights...ever heard of equal rights?

Islamic Law is NOT a part of any law in Ontario. It was rejected. Please get facts straight!

Not ALL dogs are banned; just Pit Bulls. We don't all agree with the law, but there have been too many irresponsible owners of pit bulls and something had to be done to protect innocent children who have been mauled. What would you propose to protect children?

None of my five dogs are banned.

Daisy, Any dog can bite...any size dog. The problem in Ontario was with pit bulls (as you may know, comes in all shapes, sizes and temperaments) and something had to be done.

Most pet owners objected to the legislation, asking which breed will be next. Nontheless, the law was passed by parliament and there it stands.

If we had to agree with every law a country passes, I fear we wouldn't go anywhere. You can't even take a dog to England...it will be quaranteened for 6 months. We just don't take our pets to England.

In the USA, Canadian money is not accepted at any business. We change our money before we go. I couldn't even get a coffee in NY cos all I had was Canadian money. I had to accept that! (A kind American didn't like the rule either and bought me a coffee).

Again, with all the children mauled, what rule would you impose? I never blamed the animal. It is always the owner who is careless.

Those who previously owned pit bulls must muzzle them and keep them on leads, but it remains illegal to raise them in Ontario. I think the same law applies in Manitoba.

So, apparently, you and the Canadian authorities believe that no other breed of dog, or any other animal, is capable of harming children?

Gay men can get married, but your average Jacques Canuk can't own a certain breed of man's best friend.

So much for those equal rights you were talking about, eh.

You want to protect kids? Parents should be parents and not allow their kids to walk over and hit the neighbor's dog, rather than passing idiotic and oppressive laws.

Canada's government just seems to have a backward ideology to me.

 

If that is your response, then you are idiotic enough to not deserve a response. You didn't read what I said, and you prolly don't even care.

I don't like a lot of American laws, but I don't go about calling all Americans idiots, and I respect the fact that the USA is a sovereign country and has the right to pass those laws.

If you'll notice the time I posted, you'll see that I could not have read your response because I was writing mine at the same time.

However, I still stand by what I said. The law makes no sense.

btw, I didn't say all Canadians are idiots. In fact, I didn't call anyone an idiot. I said they are passing idiotic laws. Our stupid goverment passes idiotic laws as well. It just seems that Canada does it more often.

Perhaps taking a little time to actuall read what I wrote, rather than assuming I think all Canadians are idiots, would do you some good and help clear your perception of my thoughts.

dog...fine, but then their is the innocent stranger and the dog resorts to the call of the
wild mentality. I think Canada probably needs
to rethink the law though , stiffer penalties, documents on the pit bull mix with references the
dog has a history of safety.

Daisy you are very fortunate to have a gentle
mixed breed pit bull, count your blessings what
is reality is this dogs line is suspect and your
dog gets judged with a broad stroke.

 

In Montana, more folks get eaten by grizzlies than pit bulls. Of course, you can't keep grizzlies as pets.

When pit-bulls are outlawed, only outlaws will have pit-bulls.

 

It turns out that a couple of days ago, Canada reversed herself on the application of sharia law in Ontario because it would have denied due process to Islamic women since Islamic law gives women second-class status.

As for justifying same-sex marriage as an equal right, that is false because under the law of marriage as one man and one woman all men have equal rights of marriage under the law.

However, once Canada, Spain, Belgium, and Holland have amended marriage to include same-sex marriage, they are guilty of discrimination by not allowing any kind of marriage of any kind, such as one or more persons of any gender and of any relationship. Canada wrote their law to get all that money from the rich American gays and lesbians, who will now migrate to Canada, Sodom on the Hudson Bay.

Daisy, just spend your vacation in the USA. Have you been to Crawford, Texas?

 

Why do people living in urban areas want to own vicious animals? I suspect it boosts their egos, gives them a sense of control that they don't otherwise have.

 

I don't like or trust pit bulls

 

I also don't like what's been done to the word discriminate. I discriminate all day every day. In my food, fuel purchases, radio stations, friends, etc. I even discriminate with people. I like whom I like. Or is it who?

 

The City & County of Denver has a ban on Pit Bulldogs, and will confiscate and destroy them, or even those the animal control officers THINK could be a pit bull. Aurora, CO is also considering a similar laws. I say enforce laws to make owners control their dogs, not ban any certain breeds.

 

Like I said, Canada has some idiotic laws, as do we.
