The St. Helens School Board in Oregon lifted a ban that had prevented teachers with concealed carry permits from carrying their guns on campus.

School board chairman Marshall Porter said, "The current law in Oregon allows for anyone to concealed carry on school grounds. To exclude our staff seems like they're being punished. They should have a right to protect themselves if they choose."

Lots of disagreement in that case and the two state colleges had at one time refused to follow state law and forbid concealed carry. I think that refusal still stands.

I wouldn't call St Helens redneck country but they don't march to the liberal Portland tune.

I hope they stick to their guns on this one.
