Our baby needs prayer

Yes, we will pray.
Lord, please lay Your Hand on this precious little girl.
We are praying for a miracle and may You be with
this precious baby and guide the doctor on how to help this little doll!
Please be with her parents,grandparents and great grandparents at this time.
In Your Precious Name we pray. Amen.

 

My son told me that they have taken blood for some lab tests and are monitoring Cheslyn's intake. That's all we know at this time. I'll keep you updated as much as I can.

 

Brother Bob, She is beautiful. My wife and I will be upholding her in prayer also.

The lab tests reveal a severe protein deficiency. Doctors believe this is due to the fact the Cheslyn's mother is with child again and still nursing. They moved Cheslyn to ICU last night and told her parents that she would need to be in the hospital for about a week. Doctors said that once the situation is under control, there should be no problems, however, with an infant it is always a serious situation.

Further tests have revealed that Cheslyn is suffering from a condition known as marasmus.

Doctors are very carefully putting proteins back into her body at a controlled rate. Too much protein too soon could be fatal. The doctors have given Bobby and Chaille the good report that this condition is very treatable and shouldn't result in any long lasting effects.

 

Will continue to pray for healing, and for wisdom for parents, doctors, and those who care for the little one.

 

Other factors haven't been determined yet, as far as I know. Cheslyn has been eating some baby food in addition to the nursing for a few weeks now. Obviously, if there is a nutrition issue with her mother's milk, it needs to be addressed before the new baby arrives. Also there very well could be an issue with Cheslyln's ability to absorb nutrition. These concerns are all being addressed at this time.

Chaille has been told to continue nursing for now, but Cheslyn is being given formula as well. The hospital staff is carefully monitoring her intake.

 

That beautiful little child will be in my prayers.

Praying that the doctor will give this precious baby the right amount of protein.

 

The doctors have concluded that the issue was simply a lack of food. Our doctor here at church said this is a very common situation. He strongly suggests that parents of infants invest in an accurate scale to weigh the baby often. He says that is the surest way to ensure that the baby is receiving enough food.

Again, thank you for your prayers. She is growing stronger each day. Bobby and Chaiile are very encouraged by her improving appearance already.
