What's rich ? I'm just asking, because the last 4 years have been very successful for me, each one moreso than the last. Coming to Montana, and the tax breaks that Bush put in place for small businesses, well I don't think I could have done what I've been able to do...

And now you want to take it all away, all in the name of my saviour.

    Shame on you.

I recall in the OT God doing just this. The OT NEVER goes against the teachings of the NT.

Nowhere in the New Testament does it address the politics of abortion or homosexual marriage.

    Matthew 5:9 (KJV)
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

    James 4:1 (KJV)
From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?

    James 2:5-6 (KJV)
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? [6] But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

You think that the rich mentioned in this verse are only rich Christians?

    James 2:5-6 (KJV)
Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? [6] But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?

Abortion and homosexual marriage are not political issues. The NT does address both abortion and homosexuality.

No, but how is that relevant? James is writing to the church about people who come into their assemblies. The NT does not address tax policy or economic policy of nations except to say "render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's."

They are when we are discussing them in a political context and not a theological context.

We are discussing a race for president of the United States, not pastor of the United States.

No, they are still moral issues. Sometimes moral issues are also political ones. They never cease to be moral issues. I think your view tends towards a dichotomy between faith and life, and I do not find that to be biblical.

I have. There is no discussion of politics there.

Christian conservatives need to stop confusing Biblical theology and political ideology. Biblical theology is based on the Bible, political ideology is not. Political ideology is about how government operates, not about how we operate in our personal lives.

Of course there is a discussion of politics/morals in Romans 1. Slavery, abortion, and homosexuality were common place in Rome at the time Paul wrote the letter to the early Roman Christians. They were moral issues AND part of the fabric of Roman government/society.

BTW, it helps to know what the definition of ideology is.

Okay. I added the word "political" ahead of the word "ideology". :)

I know what you mean, I cringe every time I hear Hannity say, "Let not your heart be troubled."

I listen to Limbaugh and Hannity each for about 30 minutes on most weekdays. I like to know what their talking points are. I usually anticipate what they will be saying based on the current political news. Then, on the ride home, when using my car and not my motorcycle, I listen to Michael Savage. Like Sun Tzu said, "Know your enemy."

I can see Limbaugh, but everyone else you mentioned is pretty hard for me to hear. To each their own.....

    First, it's called greed.
Second, if the word of God isn't worth standing up for defending, then what is, money apparently. Trashing scripture for the sake of $$ is not godly behavior. But for soe all it takes is a few $$ to turn the back on scripture and what God has said.

All that really matters is money in his pocket, nothing from scripture ever matters to someone like that.
