As blackbird so astutely put it...our mods here are worth every penny they're paid.

 

They deserve a raise!!!!

I'm actually OK with the job they're doing. Naturally, I don't agree with everything they do but, overall, I think they do a good job.

Besides, I post on two other boards and I can tell you that having no moderation is even worse.

If you want to talk about over-aggressive moderators, try going to Christian[and I use that phrase very loosely]Forums.com It's awful.

To answer your question, no it is not.

It's a microcosm of a variety of Baptists (who can be both biased and confrontational).

It is a private posting board operated by flawed human beings doing the best they can for the purpose (hopefully) of edification.

One must pro-actively join to participate or not join to not participate.

So?

People can still present their own views and not be punished for being overly assertive or appearing to give a holier-than-thou attitude, etc. if they sharpen their skills of the art of diplomacy.

Doing that will keep the "interesting" thread open.

Being this is a Baptist board...you can't make "executive decisions."

You must bring this motion before the Committee on Committee's (using Robert's rule of order). From there, the Personnel Committee will meet, then the Finance Committee. Afterwards, a congregational meeting will take place, and then the vote. Oh, but before the vote, there will be two hours of discussion, and at least one hour will involve discussion that has nothing to do with the pay increase. And at least two people need to bring up petty complaints that are completely unrelated to the pay issue. After the requisite discussion, the vote will be taken (it can not be unanimous). If you're having issues getting to the vote, say something about "being led" and "God's will."

Following the vote, the deacons need to meet about the issue. They don't have to do anything; the meeting must last at least an hour.

After the above procedures are followed, you may proceed. But be aware that next year, the money will be needed to pay the increase in Sunday School literature costs, so you'll have to do this over again.

 

Who is knocking it.. .I need Blackbird to give me his secrets for getting this thing called "allowance" that we speak of!! :laugh:



OH, and if we are doubling their pay, we better watch them, the next thing they will want is a doubling of their vacation time!... OH, and more sick days...

Which Blackbird may need when Mrs. Blackbird finds out she has to double his allowance! HE may NEED Obamacare at that point!! Or worse yet, DR. BOB may need it if she tracks HIM down!...

 

NOPE... not for me!... I don't have the time.

There would be fights breaking out that would make the LA Riots look like Barney's playhouse!
