Party Contrast

    This article contrasts the differences of the parties. Dem's want to raise taxes while the GOP wants to cut education, mental health services and children's health care. I don't think anyone minds the GOP philosophy but it seems they choose sensitive areas which contains societies weak when they swing the axe. Why don't they start with cutting each of their office/staff budgets, reduce government office space or turn off every other light in the hallways and vending machines? They can cut out the subsidies to large corporations as well as sales tax exemptions and income tax credits.

    Why must they pick on the defenseless children then call themselves the pro-life party? What does pro-life mean, we'll make sure you're born but don't care about the quality of life?

    Because, that is NOT the job of the Federal government. See 10th amendment.
    Those responsibilities lie with the States or Commonwealths

    Though I do agree that applying small acts - turning off unnecessary lights ect should be followed.

    There is no contrast. Neither party gives a rip about the constitution. It gets ignored equally by both party.

    The difference is that many times the way of 'promoting' something is to get the heck out of the way. Which is something that our Federal government should be doing in many cases.

    There is definitely a difference between promote & sustain. Promoting it would be encouraging people to be entrepreneurial.

    Basically the difference is in these two philosophies:
    1 Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day (liberal) or
    2 Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime (conservative)

    IOW, is the government HELPING, or PANDERING?

    Please note that I did NOT use Democrat - Republican!!

    The problem is the GOP won't fund the training program and would expect the person to learn to fish on their own. Once enough hit the ranks of the starving, the Dem's step in and feed them for a day. What an endless cycle. Glad I am unaffiliated...

    The preamble has no legal standing. Doesn't matter. The Constitution has been meaningless since the Lincoln War and his Republican Party.

    Democrats continually support an oppressive corporate tax structure (one of the highest in the world) and a high capital gains tax.

    Those two actions alone have the effect of squashing or penalizing the efforts of entrepreneurs.

    Most entrepreneurs are Republican until their company becomes a corporation, then they become Democrats.












    (I'm kidding, of course. Maybe. Well, at least partially)
