I have tickets for the 24th and plan on seeing it with my wife. We won these tickets so we plan on giving the tickets we bought away.

In our church, we have two large screens on either side of the sanctuary. Our Pastor had the sound men to show excerpts of the movie.

I sat there in amazement! I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I told my kids that if the tickets were one hundred dollars each, that I was not missing that movie.

    Excited,

I hope that Christians support this movie. And frankly, I believe that they will. I also believe that this film will be the instrument of many conversions. God Bless Mel Gibson!

Jude, I was telling someone, just last night, that I feel that this movie may cause a great revival all over the world.

The world needs something! What better way than using something like this?

Support an ultra-violent, false doctrine film? I hope not. I hope Christians picket and protest this movie and warn others about its demented focus on the pain and suffering of our Lord, while bypassing His teachings, ministry of love, and His glorious resurrection. This film will fill people's minds with false doctrine, Mary idolatry, Anne Catherine Emmerich's tortured and deranged visions of non-bilbical details, the devil in the garden of Gethsemane instead of an angel strengthening Jesus, etc. If you really care about Biblical accuracy, if you prefer to focus on all the elements of Jesus: birth, ministry, teaching, betrayal, suffering, death, resurrection, post-resurrection ministry, ascension to heaven, giving of the Holy Spirit on day of Pentecost--the true and complete Gospel, you will not go to nor praise unreservedly this movie. But I will not condemn you if you are swept away by the Passion marketing efforts. If you love violence, and don't think the Gospels are enough to make you appreciate Jesus' sacrifice, that you need a movie to help you love Jesus more...Just remember: you've been warned.

Mary idolatry? I haven't seen the movie yet but have heard many Protestant pastors who have seen it speak about it not one complained of any Mary idolatry. Did you ever think Ms. Emmerick really did have the visions she claimed to have. My understanding is that the movie is based on her visions, the Gospels, and historical records of crusifixion, that are amazing consistent with eachother. Perhaps you better not read Luke 1 "How is it that the MOTHER OF MY LORD SHOULD COME TO ME.". John even lept in her womb in front of her. Mary idolatry all over that book.

    Blessings

vaspers, some day you'll grow up. We've heard over and over what you've had to say [IMG]

Tess, your wasting your breathe. like the folks at www.corruptchristianmusic.com, he's totally convinced of himself. I remember myself when I was like him in my younger years. I find its best to pop some popcorn and watch as he conjurs up his tales.

Take it easy, vaspers. We all have some pretty thick skin, down here. But I think you're kind of asking for it.

I think it does have something to do with Mr. Leathal Weapon and What Women Want, doing a faithful film on Jesus Christ. No one expected it. Reports are that Jack Nicolson looked at him and said "How is Jezuus treatin' ya".

Part of it is nothing like this film has been done before. It is something very special and unique. We will get a small glimpse into what the Passion may have been like and be able mediate about that. Countless reports have already streamed in about souls drawing closer to God after viewing the film. It will be so awesome once we have all seen it and can talk about it from hindsight.

Amen! BrotherAdam! I'll be seeing the film on the Saturday following the 25th. I'll be looking foward to joining in on the conversation after that time.

Vaspers- Your name is interesting. What made you choose it? It reminds me of Vespers- that is, evening/night prayers. - God bless all! - Meercat

No regard? In other words, not one single event in the movie is to be found in the bible? Wow, I wonder how Mel pulled that off?!

(Got tickets for the 24th, so I'll get to find out soon!)

Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. I think that addresses the ministry of love part. Beyond that, I'm truly sorry that Mel made the movie he wanted to make, rather than the movie you wanted to make. Life is just so unfair!

Yep, if we all come to a bad end over this it we can't say it's because you didn't warn us!

You offer the "either or" fallacy. As IF to view the Love of God in allowing His Son to die for our sins (in payment for the debt owed for each and every sin committed) - means you "can not" also have interest in the life of Christ. You make an argument that does not hold.

Furthermore - Christ himself stated that the Devil WAS coming to confront Him and "he has nothing in Me" John 14:30. Christ wrestled in the Garden with evil forces while also paying the suffering due the sins of every one of mankind.

God sent His angel to strengthen Christ - but in the Garden prior to that - Christ was in anguish praying that this cup of super-human suffering - suffering for all the sins of all the world - would "pass from him".

    In Christ,

    Bob

That is what I like about the concept of this film. It cuts to the core of Christianity and Salvation. God became flesh, suffered, died, and rose. Jesus our healer, teacher, and role model, although all good things, they pale in comparason to Jesus, mankind's Savior from sin. If this film focuses on Jesus' suffering, dying and rising then I support it 100%. I think it is something most other films gloss over and sugarcoat. This is the Saving Private Ryan of Gospel movies. Seeing SPR changed the way I look at war vets and I expect it to do the same with how I see Christ and the love that He had to humble Himself to suffer and die for me.

I do want to say that I appreciate vaspers passion. I ended up losing some of that passion for sarcasm as I was continuely shown that my views were wrong over and over again. I realize now that I just needed to mature and learn, but instead of a bunch of BB posters ripping on me it was a retired general. It's pretty easy to shrug off anyone here, but man, this guy made you feel tiny!

Anyways, keep the "passion" for Christ vaspers as you learn more and more.
