I was watching the 700 Club the other day and they had a segment where a person says she was healed of a curved spine (I don't remember the medical term) after watching the 700 Club. She says Pat Robertson was praying when he said somthing to the effect of, "I see a person with a curved spine... you are being healed right now in the name of Jesus..."

She says at that moment she was no longer in pain and was able to do things she hadn't been able to do before. She said she was healed.

My question is this. The 700 Club is a taped show. Wouldn't she have been healed at the taping and not the actual air date? Pat declared healing in the name of Jesus before the show aired. Wouldn't she have been healed at that moment and not later? Or is it because she had to hear before believing, hence the healing at the airing of the show?

...interesting, never thought about the show being taped before. Maybe God TiVO'd His miracles to happen at a later date to coincide with the airing of the show:laugh:

This is probably a little off topic, but I was wondering:

Didn't one of Pat's airplanes crash not long ago causing the death of some of his employees? I was wondering if this was God's wrath against Pat for being so stupid.

Somehow people like Pat scare me. I don't like these christians which are so extreme and also politically active. I have read some quotes from Pat and I have the impression that he really likes threatening people. Whenever there is a natural disaster he attributes it to God...

So should she have received healing at the moment Pat declared it or at the time she heard the prayer?

I believe it was Pat's plane, but was rented to someone else. Pat probably had insurance, so no loss to Pat.

I think she would have been healed BEFORE the show aired, when Pat Robertson actually prayed. When Jesus healed people, they were healed at the same hour; the Centurian's servant, for example. The servant didn't hear Jesus talking to the Centurian. He was at home.

You're not alone. I feel the same way. In fact I have little use for Pat Robertson or the kind of Christianity that he seems to advocate and practice.

After salvation by Grace through Faith only came, the ability of the Apostles to ask, and it would be done by the Holy Ghost, was removed. PatR has no more power to heal someone than a lamppost. If this woman had a curved spine, and if she was healed, then it was by her faith in Christ Jesus, and the will of the Father for the Holy Spirit to heal this woman. We are not today living in that "kingdom" presented at Pentecost that was aborted due to unbelief by God's nation Israel. They asked what they would and it was done. We ask, and if it is God's will, then it will be done. Times have changed.
