I can't help but wonder if those companies, and the board of executives who run the companies could have lifted and cast the first stone had Paul Deen been brought before Jesus for her indiscretion?

I do not believe that anyone involved with these companies are innocent of ever casting slurs or derogatory comments in the direction of others, at one time or another in his or her life.

What a bunch of hypocrites, and weak-kneed individuals, as they purely caved to politically-correct pressure; done in the name of tolerance and diversity!

Don't get me wrong....Deen should pay a price for her sins, but the price being dropped on her seems heavy when you consider that I personally doubt that no one in those corporations could have tossed a stone had Jesus been there when they dragged her to the court of public opinion!!!

Yes. Even I have used the "n" word and I shouldn't have done that.

Not to be a 'stickler", but Jesus stated "let him that is without sin, first cast a stone at her", not "cast the first stone".....:D

John 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

It wasnt so much to be politically correct - rather I believe it was a $$ decision. If Sharpton and Company had made a fuss - those companies were fearful they would loose business of certian communities.

    But was it a sin?

"To whom much is given, much is expected."

If we were under stoning, there would be no one left to throw.

A father with an uncorrectable son is supposed to stone him.

It is not politically correct to preach about sin righteousness and judgment--never has been.

Judgment must begin at the House of God."

As you can clearly see.....I must be dyslexic, as I move "first" from the beginning to the end of that verse

That is a topic in its own right!

Was that a "sin?" That would be a great topic and maybe a poll! According to some, she sinned against others, as she caused them to stumble in anger towards her derogatory remark...still, that is a great question!

Disagree - Paula did not cause them to be angry. They did that to themselves.
Again - the question is - who determines what a derogatory remark is?

I agree with Salty here-----who determines what a derogatory remark is?? or what EXACTLY has to be said to make it into the category of HATE speech??

I can be having a conversation with a buddy of mine at WalMart checkout line---the little checkout lady can hear a word being said between the two of us and claim HATE speech----see what I'm sayin'?????:saint::saint:

I'm beginning to think we should start using it in every sentence to shut up the thought police.

Evidently those who are the most politically correct, unfortunately.

That is one great thing about being retired; I say what I want and if the hearer doesn't want to hear it they are free to move away.

It is well past time for the blacks in the United States to move on. I am tired of them always thinking that something is owed to them because of what may or may not have happened to their Great Great Great Great Grand Father... 150 years ago, time to move on. Many white folks allow this behavior by the way they agree and act ashamed. Hold your head up, and move on. I am so tired of this africian-American stuff also. All africans arent black and all blacks arent from africa. Just as a reminder, blacks sold other blacks into slavery, why in the world arent they apologizing? Blacks can call each other nigger and its okay? Blacks also call us cracker, saltine, and a few other racial laden names and thats okay? Time for a fresh wind in the USA, bringing in a truely equal system of dealing with one another that has nothing to do with the color of ones skin. I have used the word nigger to refer to blacks and whites. I guess I better not tell my sponsors... Have a blessed day!
