Tuition Assistance in the Navy (I'm certain it is the same across the military) now covers 100% of your tuition, but is limited to 12 hours per year. It doesn't cover books, but it does cover a lot. It will take about twice as long (because its limited to 12 hours per year), but free tuition is free tuition. Another benefit in the military is they pay for CLEP and DANTES examinations which over 2300 schools nationwide accept for full class credit. If that weren't enough, the military has partnerships with numerous schools that will award you credit for your military training. Even if you are a relatively junior military member, it is likely you could start off with anywhere from 15-30 semester hours of credit just from completing basic training and initial technical training.

There are a lot of options and I'm learning about more and more every day.
