.....................Rep. John Conyers, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced Friday he wants to set up a commission to look into whether the Bush administration broke the law by taking the nation to war against Iraq and instituting aggressive anti-terror initiatives. The Michigan Democrat called for an "independent criminal probe into whether any laws were broken in connection with these activities.".......

I don't think any of this will go too far. They are only appeasing their constituents. This would set precedence that would tie future presidents hands when it comes to doing what they feel necessary to protect the American public.

The Bush administration is leaving in a couple of days, I think we should just put this hurtful chapter in our history behind us and move on.

This would put her in the crosshairs as well. She OKed the waterboarding personally.

But like the 500,000 Iraqi women & children who starved to death under Clinton, the left will ignore her part in this.

So it's government responsibility to feed Iraqi's but not the citizens of this country???

What kind of logic is that?

==John Conyers is a bit extreme and I don't think there are many people who doubt that.

Anyway, these type of things are common after a rough presidency. I recall some Republicans wanted to prosecute Mr. Clinton in '00. Little to nothing came of that, I suspect little to nothing will come of this. If Conyers and other liberals try to prosecute some Bush folks there will be a large public backlash and Mr. Obama (w/ others) will demand it be stopped. People want the government to do its job in these troubled days, not be used by political hacks to go after their enemies.

Just let the Bush administration officials go. They can't do any further harm to the United States after noon on this coming Tuesday. We need to concentrate on cleaning up the mess they are leaving behind.

True, but I still wouldn't mind seeing the CEO and other officials of BushCo spending time in the big house instead of A big house in Dallas. At least he is his new neighbors problem rather than everyone's. I do wonder...will the Dubya Presidential Library at SMU have a copy of "The Pet Goat"? It must be interesting, since it kept his rapt attention, even after he knew the nation was taking an unprecedented hit.
