"Pelosi and Rep. Louise Slaughter, D-N.Y., chairwoman of the House Rules Committee, are cooking up a plan to pass the original health bill from the Senate side without forcing rank-and-file Democrats to technically go on record in support of it."

"Enter the Pelosi tactic, known as a "self-executing rule."

Under this tactic, the House could simultaneously approve the Senate version of the bill while voting on the package of changes. This would "deem" the Senate bill passed, though not directly show members voting in favor of passage. "

"Pelosi reportedly told liberal bloggers Monday that "nobody wants to vote for the Senate bill," and so she's strongly considering the non-vote vote.

"I like it, because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill," she said."

The Dems know that they have a dog on their hands - but they don't really care what the American public thinks about this bill.

They are going to ram it through one way or another.

    Talk about Orwellian double-speak...

The bill has to pass before they can reconcile it...

So don't vote to pass the bill...

Just reconcile it and say that "it must have passed because we are reconciling it".

It's a tacit admission that she doesn't have the votes and has to resort to subverting the legislative process and breaking the law to do it.

Democrat's disdain for the Constitution was never more evident than with this unconstitutional ploy.

Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution, however, expressly states that for any bill to beome law "the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by the yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively." After that, under the Constitution, the president must either sign the bill or hold it for ten days (not counting Sundays), after which it will become law unless Congress adjourns in the interim.

I doubt that Rep. Slaughter's idea will end up being used. It looks to me that they will wind up with the needed votes when it is finally voted on.

Sure they will. They will buy them, just like the Senate did. Regardless, the idea itself is very telling.

Don't forget the threats and browbeating, the favored choice of Pelosi and her band of thugs.

Since healthcare legislation was conceived in the House, folks were sure it would never pass the Senate. When it did, folks were sure it would never be reconciled. Now that reconciliation is imminent, folks are sure that it won't pass Constitutional muster (as if the Constitution is even considered.)

How many times do folks need to be sucker-punched before they wake up?

Never underestimate the determination of the Marxists to advance their agendas. They will not yield to diplomacy, the democratic process or the rule of law.

    Never.
