    Pharmacist refuses to murder baby

----------------------------------------------------------------------Praise God for this pharmacist. Hopefully he will challenge Eckerd's violation of his right to religious freedom so they will stop prohibiting Christians from living according to Christ's teachings. Looks like a boycott of Eckerd and J.C. Penney is in order.

Texas Pharmacist Denies Pill to Rape Victim

DALLAS (Reuters) - Eckerd Corp. said on Tuesday it had disciplined one of its pharmacists after he refused to fill the prescription of a rape victim seeking a morning-after abortion pill.

The pharmacist considered it a violation of morals to give a rape victim, with a valid prescription, a pill that would prevent her from getting pregnant due to the sexual assault, the company said. The incident took place on Jan. 23 at an Eckerd drug store in the Dallas suburb of Denton.

Eckerd spokeswoman Joan Gallagher said she could not give details of the disciplinary actions, but said the pharmacist had violated company policy.

"A pharmacist is obliged to fill a prescription if it is a valid, legal prescription," she said. "We do not make exceptions for any moral, religious or ethical concerns with regard to filling the prescription."

Florida-based Eckerd is owned by Texas-based retailer J.C. Penney.

Protesters, carrying signs reading "Got Raped? Let someone else help you" and "Rape violates my morals," have been picketing the store this week.

The rape victim was able to have her prescription filled at a Walgreen's pharmacy in the area, they said.

Indeed, but I did not like the title of the thread, as there was no certainty that a fetus was present. The Church does allow, for this circumstance for preventative measure to be taken to prevent a pregnancy in this case, but of course, once a life is conceived, no interfention is allowed.

And note this terrible article on your professor, Scott Hahn! I invite you to come over and rebut it, since i know you admire this man very much. so do I, but I will let you have first crack!

But be advised you will have to put up with a lot of pop-up ads here...Also, I think you have to register if you wish to post there.

    </font>[/QUOTE]You misunderstand me here.

Measures, such as cleaning out the vagina, after being raped is permitted, since the sperm has no right to be there, as in a marriage. Otherwise, it would be considered artificial birth control which is forbidden in that circumstance.

The pill in question is not a preventative, but rather an abortion-causing pill if a pregnancy did indeed occur, that will abort a fetus if it is fertilized, rather then prevent a fertilization in the first place.

To abort a fetus after fertilization is not allowed by the church under any circumstances, therefore the Church would forbid it's use as a "preventative." In other words, the pharmacist was correct in not issuing the prescription.

The title assumes that there is a fetus, which I thought to be misleading, that's all...

    Bill,

That's an old article, and the day it was published, Dr. Hahn contacted its author by phone and told him that there were over two dozen factual errors in it. John Robbins has earned a bad name among Evangelicals for his dishonesty.

OK, knowing that Scott is one you hold in very high regard. He visited us here in Pensacola (Gulf Breeze, FLA., across the bay) a year ago, and I attended.

    Good man, Dr. Scott Hahn!
