Fred Phelps must know better than to show his face in Fayetteville North Carolina (home of Fort Bragg and Pope Air Force Base). His church, excuse me his hate group, had promised to protest a funeral of a young soldier killed in Iraq, however they did not show up. Their excuse? The funeral was private and they wished to honor that. Yea, right! I know I believe that one. I think the "real" reason they did not show up was because they knew that they would face large crowds of people who would stand in their way. They also knew that 200 members of "Patriot Guard Riders" were going to show up as well. In other words they were out numbered.

Threatened protest doesn't materialize at soldier's funeral

Good. Funerals are not the place for outsiders to protest (it's different if the family is involved).

Plus, they probably knew they would get their butts kicked! Frankly, his is one preacher's tail I'd like to plant my size 10 and a half boot on.

Let God take care of Rev Phelps onJudgment Day. He is going to be held more accountable since he is a Reverend.

FG46, good point...I would add, though, that reverend is simply phelps' title. It will surprise me very little for God to say to him, "Depart from me." I see no evidence of God in his life.

Not much to "revere" with that windbag.

Thank you. After a man calling himself a preacher, slandred God's Word, I asked my preacher at that time if a person said he was a Preacher or Reverend, repeatedly, would God take him seriously, I was told He would and the person would be held more accountable to God on Judgment Day.

'Sorry. I'd still like to kick his butt. Will clean up the boots later. They'll thank me. :)
