We saw this movie yesterday. It was a little long, but I liked it.

(We saw Superman Returns on July 4th. We got there 20 minutes before the movie started and had no problem finding a seat.

For the Pirate movie, we got there 20 minutes before the movie started and found the last 3 seats together.

Many people came in right when the movie started and couldn't believe there were no seats available. )

If you go see the movie, watch it to the end, even through the credits.

I think we need a new place for movie opinions...I don't think they really qualify as a 'hobby,' now.

    Why not?

Webster's dictionary says "HOBBY" is a pastime activity and "PASTIME" is a way to spend spare time.

movieministry.com is good too, but they don't cover everything that comes out, obviously stuff like slasher or porn romance films are excluded from even reviewing.

OK, I left before the credits were done. What did I miss (I won't tell any one you told me - honest!).

    Final scene

We had heard there was a final scene following the credits. I thought it would be Sparrow washing up on some island.

It went back to the island where the cannibals were. They were dancing around a fire. They had placed the dog (still alive) in the king's chair. He was holding a giant bone in his mouth.

    Gib,

I hate I missed that. I loved the movie, but it could have used a few more funny things.

We have the Curse of the Black Pearl DVD---and have watched it a zillion times

And have seen Dead Man's Chest

Dead Man's Chest isn't near as good as The Curse

I agreecompletely with Brother Blackbird. I believe part of the problem with Dead Mans Chest is that the expectations were alot higher for it then they ever were for The Curse.

Everyone thought at best The Curse might be mildly amusing, I mean afterall its a movie based on a Disneyland ride. Well now with Dead Man's Check we know better and expected much much more.

We went to see this one last weekend and I managed to embarrass the wife to pieces. The kids wanted to go in costume you see and who was I to stand in there way. OK, so I wanted to go in costume too. There we were going into the theater with our pirate dew rags on our heads, our plastic swords, oh and I had this clip on hoop earring. My wife tried to walk behind and pretend she did not know us.

I thought it was great. Leaves you hanging for the 3rd one, but I expected that knowing it was already filmed.
