Not only is plagiarism strictly against Baptist Board rules, in the strict sense of the word, it is against American and state laws. It happens quite often here, I suppose for the purpose of a poster exhibiting knowledge about a doctrine that he or she knows nothing about. It only takes a few keystrokes to cite a source. It is easy to prove. When a post appears that seems out of character for the poster, all one has to do is google the phrase or sentence, and more often than not, it will lead one to a website that is a paper or study written by a credible person. It seems to me this is a more serious offense than all of the back and forth that has been the subject of much debate as of late. What is your opinion of plagiarism, and what do you think the penalty should be? In a sense, it is stealing knowledge one does not have, just like cheating on a test in school.
