Abortions account for over 86% of Planned Parenthood’s revenues, according to President Cecile Richards, who makes over $520,000 annually.

Richards made the admission while testifying before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Tuesday.

“[She] gets paid 26x the average salary of a medical assistant,” the committee tweeted.

She also claimed that abortions only account for 3% of Planned Parenthood’s total procedures, which prompted Rep. Cynthia Lummins (R-Wy.) to ask Richards to explain the discrepancy.

Let’s talk about Planned Parenthood revenue for abortions,” Lummins told Richards. “If you look at the 2013 statistics that you report, abortions from revenue would have been over 86% of your non-government revenue.”

“How do you explain this massive disparity between the amount of revenue you collect from abortions and the fact you report only 3% of your services being abortions?”

Richards squirmed in her response, suggesting the numbers weren’t connected because “federal money doesn’t go for abortions” and that abortions were “probably more expensive than other procedures that we provide.”

“Which might… might explain what you’re trying to get at,” she added.

Richards also said she didn’t know which clinics made the most money from abortions.

She does have an ally in Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Cali.) who said the group behind the undercover Planned Parenthood sting videos exposing the organization’s organ harvesting should be investigated for “doctoring” the “fake” videos, even though the group, the Center for Medical Progress, has released hours of completely unedited footage.

Pelosi also admitted she hasn’t seen any of the videos.

Planned Parenthood Had $127M Surplus But Won't Accept Cut in Federal Funding

(CNSNews.com) – At a hearing on Planned Parenthood funding in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Tuesday, Rep. Mick Mulvaney (R-S.C.) pointed out to Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards that the organization’s most recent tax report shows $127 million dollars of revenue in excess of expenses.

Mulvaney asked Richards whether taking away just the $60 million in discretionary funding appropriated by Congress of the more than $450 million in federal funding that the Congressional Budget Office estimates Planned Parenthood gets each year.

“One of the proposals here, Ms. Richards, is to defund Planned Parenthood, which includes taking roughly $60 million away from what you get out of discretionary funding,” Mulvaney said to Richards at a hearing of the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee, where she was a witness. “If we took $60 million away from you, you could still perform every single service that you gave last year, can’t you?”
