I generally agree with most of what they say, except that they say they agree that government should not establish a national religion on one hand and on the other say that we have to declare ourselves a Christian nation. That is establishing a national religion.

I have no problem living in a country that has a national religion, as long as that national religion fits my views EXACTLY. Until that happens (and it never will), I prefer to live in a nation that supports no religion at all and allows me freedom to practice mine.

I just have to post again and say that I now agree with my own comments even more :).

Just read some more and determined that this political party was started by Mormons. They aren't even Christian.

Matt they do alloow others to practice their religion as long as it is peaceful. So are you saying that you agree with everything except their proclamation that this country was founded on Christian principles and for that you would not support them? I am a little confused here.

I don't agree with their stance that a country has to declare themselves a Christian nation. It's a too slippery a slope. Next they will want to declare the book of Mormon as a guide for our country.

There is a mixture of good and bad in it. I did chuckle out loud when I read this:

Pollution-free alternative energy sources have been discovered and patented. These tools have been suppressed by corporations and lobbied government officials, but could become quickly available and which should be allowed to reach the hands and use of we the people, were it not for politics and government interference.

Makes me question the intelligence of the whole document.

Does it strike anyone as ironic that a bunch of independents have banded together to form a party?

Kinda defeats the purpose of being independent.

As for the platform, I'd expect nothing rational from their leadership. Thanks for the link and fun read. :)
