Man shot while waiting in line:

Another story (no source): A dentist in Columbus, GA hired 60 temps to stand in line and rotate out in 8-hour shifts so he could buy 25 of them for Christmas gifts for nieces, nephews, grandkids, etc.

The first one is rumored to have sold on eBay for $41,000.

Post your PS3 madness stories on this thread.

As an aside: Sadly, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is free, yet lines don't form to receive the FREE GIFT. The world has gone mad.

Some people believe that if they don't buy their kids or grandchildren thae best and latest gadgets, that they won't love them. We need to teach children at a young age that they do not need all of the fancy things to be truly happy.

$130 new. Some 60 games are on sale at the new regular
price of $10 each. Last Christmas I was paying $300 for a PS2
    and $60 per game.

Apparently the PS3 for $600 comes with no game. It will cost
you $660 (plus taxes) to have a game to play.
There are only 5 or 6 games now available.

BTW, the PS3 outputs a HD (high definition) signal to the TV.
It will play on old TVS, but to get maximum output you need
    a $3200 HD, wide screen.

And just for good sport, if you play your $60 game on your
$600 machine on your $3200 HD/wide screen TV then you
will be playing by yourself. The extra controller you need
    costs extra bucks.

can you spell BLACK HOLE for money?

    you spell it P-S-3 :)

Search on eBay for "PS3 e-mail address" or some similar phrase. People are bidding hundreds and even thousands of dollars on FREE e-mail accounts (Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail and Gmail).

Why? Because the e-mail account usernames have PS3 themes that appeal to sellers. PS3_Trusted_Dealer and such usernames as that.

FREE e-mail addresses being auctioned off for such big bucks is even more insane, IMO, than paying thousands of dollars for the actual console.

I'm going to confess something embarrassing.

If someone placed three or four unfamiliar electronic gadgets on a table along side a playstation and asked me to pick out the one that was a playstation......I couldn't do it.

I don't even know what one looks like.

    I kid you not.

I saw a bunch of this on the news the other night and thought ti was ridiculous. People camping out in front of stores for days. My son talked to people at our local wal mart who had been there for two days in the layaway dept. Only 10 per store were released though, and I heard they were handing out numbers for a drawing, so even if you'd been there for 3 days and were first didn't mean you were getting one.
The ones on ebay were from Japan, they released there a week before here.
This whole thing is just stupid.

What some people consider ridiculous, they consider good business. Where else can you secure a 1000 - 9000 profit for camping out in front of a store with buddies for 3 days? I may be one of them next time around. Would be a great opportunity to witness to a group of people you get to know for a couple of days, too.
