I couldn't see a triangle but a more oval yellow shape. Whatever it is, it's the same on all of the boots.

Are you sure yer not looking at the yellow VIBRAM trademark, that's on the sole of the boots I'm wearing now, and every pair of hiking or work boots I've ever worn, even on some hi-tec sandals I've seen....?

    Is that it ?

Yep. You can blow up the image and it would seem clear that they are all Vibram boots.

Its not a triangle, it's a yellow octagon looking thing. The boots that the cop kneeling by the protesters is the same boot that both of the men on the ground are wearing.

How 'bout we not go into the mocking mode just yet. It's an interesting story, worthy of figuring out, I don't think James or I have endorsed it as truth.

I think it is strange that the men just disappeared. Maybe they were terrorists and have been renditioned?

Sorry Rufus & James, I thought we'd been thru enough together that I could laugh, and you would know it was jesting. I've had to laugh at myself. And I think both you and James know I like & respect you both.

So I'll re-paruse the stuff, and go on the disappearing dude angle.

    Fair enough ?

Are there records to show how many are taken into custody, but never charged ?

    The article states this:
If being taken into custody and arrested are two different things, then I suppose there might be another explanaition. I'm always being arrested when I get taken into custody, so the distinction is lost on me.

I've been taken into custody several times, and in my wilder days, I've had marijuana taken from me by cops, and they've made me stomp it into the ground, I've been forcibly removed from drinking establishments, I've had the Smith & Wesson handcuffs on me several times, and not been charged. I haven't been arrested now since 1992, so laws may be different, now.

It's all good. I'm likely a bit oversensitive to the "humor" thing due to a couple other threads so, moving on...

The article's statement of it being a triangle was clearly an error. However, errors on details are pretty common by today's "journalists" and it's that much easier when no one's name is attached to the article and no one is accountable for it. What is apparently confirmed, is the Montebello riot police and the 3 "protesters" had nearly identical foot gear. Further, in what took two people a mere minutes, we've figured out what the author couldn't in that we now know who the vendor is. I've sent the vendor an email requesting their confirmation that these are their boots, the model type of the boots, and how common they are in Canada.

The fact that the alleged provocateurs had similar to the exact same boots, their behavior prior to them breaking the police line, the weak resistance of the police line, that they were gently walked away rather than dragged off like the other protesters, that they disappeared without a record of who they are and no charge (whereas the known protesters who were arrested were charged) and silly statements from spokespeople such as this one...

...makes this whole thing very, very suspicious and I'm beginning to believe Kevin Skerrett when he says...

"I think the circumstantial evidence is very powerful."

It is powerful and it is circumstantial...I sure would like to know who those three guys were and what group they are with. It would seem like masked men with rocks rushing the police in this "terror" age would be something they'd want to know too.

I got a response from Vibram. They are a sole manufacturer only and were unable to identify the boot maker from the image.
