Do you believe that there has been and continues to be an epidemic of HIV virus (AIDS) in the world? In parts of Africa 25% 0f the adult population is infected.

Sub-Saharan Africa is more heavily affected by HIV and AIDS than any other region of the world. An estimated 22 million people were living with HIV at the end of 2007 and approximately 1.9 million additional people were infected with HIV during that year. In just the past year, the AIDS epidemic in Africa has claimed the lives of an estimated 1.5 million people in this region. More than eleven million children have been orphaned by AIDS.

Somehow, this didn't happen right after WWI. How does this guy explain that?

I hope you are not being serious here. The flu and HIV are not transmitted the same way. The reason the flu epidemic of 1918 was so deadly is because you had literally millions of soldiers who were concentrated into very unsanitary conditions. The first outbreaks in America were primarily in military camps across the nation. From there it spread to the rest of the country. This is well known and documented, look it up for yourself.

Here is an article that shows how the war spread this flu epidemic.

Carpo: // If citizens refuse to comply with isolation or quarantine orders in the event of a health emergency, they may be imprisoned for up to 30 days and fined $1,000 per day that the violation continues. //

When I was a Studly Hall Teacher back in '71, I read all the City Code of Pauls Valley, Ok. several times. The imprisonment was 90 days and the fines $100. This is not a new law.

I've told the story several times on BB about after the 3 May 1999 Tornado which tore a path of destruction 1/2 a mile wide from Bridgecreek through Moore into Midwest City and past. A five mile strech tore the sod out of the ground. Google map (on the map with the 1 mile notation) there is still the leftovers of that path. Over 63 people were killed even though the storm was being tracked from the airport at Chickasha. Not all the dark roofs were rebuilt (no house there) but the cement pad upon which the house was built is still there. The trees are gone, they are darker than grass. So even in 2009 (ten years later) there is still signs of the awsome stroke of nature (I'm sure it was early Global Warming :)

Anyway, it seems like for 3 years there were police at limited entrances to the areas devistated by the Tornado. The main through roads were restored. Study FEMA folks - I betcha their power superceedes Homeland Security after a natural disaster OR terrorist 'hit'.

Freedom is not a right to be distubuted by the Nanny State; Freedom is taken those who must have it.

I got 'back' the America I wanted when Obama was elected :)

    Well, this is confusing.

Freedom is not a right to be distributed by the Nanny State - a state which "the one" is greatly expanding.

But you are getting back the America that you wanted with "the one"?

    You don't want freedom?

Freedom is something you TAKE not something someone gives to you.

How can I be free? I pay $400-480 a month on my back-up and my family's primary health care ilnsurance. I pay $100 a month on my primary health care (Medicare) - I'm 65 years old. I pay about $300 a month on meds, some $200 of which is mine. My life depends upon at least 3 of the blood pressure meds -- without them I'd be dead. My calm & cool exterier depends upon a couple of the meds -- without them someone would probably blow me away :-( Yes, Insurance and meds are 1/4 of my income -- I'm a slave to the Big Medicine, Big Insurance, Big Pharmacy -- I'm the Marlboro Man :)

In my America people respected the Presdient of the USofA because he is the President of the USofA. In the Bush America nobody respected the President nor the office of the President of the USofA. Now (since Carter anyway) the office of the President is Scape Goat job :-(

Free is the state in which God created us. That freedom is taken from to greater and lesser extents depending upon the government over us.

If you are not "free" because you pay for medical insurance and meds then in your mind you will never be free because you also pay for food, shelter, clothing and transportation.

I consider paying for all of the above to be part of the freedom which I enjoy. I am free to make the choices of how to spend my own money in all of those areas.

I suspect that you are saying the same thing but that I am not getting it from your words.

Freedom is lack of government coercion.

They could not be arrested nor their homes invaded without a warrant.

    Like Massachusetts proposes.

Christians can always be free no matter what their political condition. Jesus Christ set me free and nobody can take that away from me.
