    Olie, Olie Oxen Free - probably a variant from my neighborhood.

    "Kick the can" was a favorite in our alley. We had lots of kids and lots of activity at all hours. "Red Rover" when we had more than 15 kids.

    Ah, the baby boom days. Kids, kids and more kids!

    It may be more widespread. I know I'm a young one, but we used that modification down here in Arkansas not too long ago.

    Used in it Mizzurah too.

    Ever see the old Twilight Zone episode, "Kick the Can?" Its one of my favorites.

    We called the game "Hide and Go Seek" and, like Dr. Bob, cried, "Allee, allee oxen free".
