Jesus would not run for office. His kingdom is not of this world.

massdak, haven't you heard? I've heard it claimed by liberals that Jesus was a liberal. [IMG]

And no, it isn't a serious poll because some of us believe He will literally come back to Rule and Reign one day & it won't be by popular or electoral vote. Amen! ;)

Edited to say (after noticing previous post):
See, massdak, ...what'd I tell ya! [IMG]

Oh no, the "L" word. Compared to you, everyone, including Jesus, is a liberal.

Of course, since your general attitude on the board has turned from hyperconservative to flat out ungodliness, I don't much take stock in your namecalling (which you constently do to people, but always have an excuse for).

For the record, I never said in my previous post that Jesus was a liberal (as you so falsely imply). I do, however, point out a biblical truth: That Jesus would not run for office, because his kingdom is not of this world. Clearly, your worship of politics is distorting your biblical understanding.

Jesus was not a liberal. But you are.

You're right. I've called you and so many others so many names on so many threads, a no good **##XX&&**, a so-in-so, and, don't forget when I called you personally, "Dude" one time. I love calling people names. It's great amusement and makes my day. Of course it would be nice if you could produce threads where that happened, but why bother, just accuse, right?

But that's nothing, nothing at all compared to the rest of my ungodly life. You think that's bad, well I could tell you stories to make your hair curl! So horrible it makes the woman at the well look like Mother Theresa! And that's not the half of it!

But maybe the Lord will touch my life so I can be just like you.

That wasn't in reference to you, but if it makes you feel better, go ahead and think it.

But the poll was what if He would - you know, a what if?

Well, since you don't even believe the Bible is literal and hell is a real place of fire & torment, according to some of your posts, I agree my Biblical understanding is quite different than yours.

    1. Let us see here, Jesus told his followers to sell what they had to buy a sword if they didn't already have one. So he advocated a deadly weapon for self defense. So the brady bill wouldn't be signed.

    2. Jesus did not try to make the state run the church or the church run the state. He is saving that for his kingdom.

I believe Jesus is reigning currently as a monarch. But as we live minute by minute we are "voting" as to whether we will follow His rulership in our lives.

I'm no liberal. Just ask a liberal. I'm a moderate conservative. I'm anti-abortion, pro death penalty, in favor of voluntary prayer in schools, and in favor of codification of male/female marriage. I'm also in favor of a consumer driven economy, and and against government interference. I'm against illegal immmigration, and in favor of protection of borders. I'm in favor of the War in Iraq, and am against prohibitions of public nativity displays. I believe in salvation by faith in Christ alone, and that Jesus literally died, was risen, and will literally return one day.

Please let me know if any of that is unclear.

Though intended to be sarcastic, the statement has been, unfortunately, true from time to time. I do, however, accept that this is generally not your m.o. I truly believe that you don't wish to call people names. Please accept my criticism when I say that, from time to time, your posts do come off that way.

Any time it has been done in the past, you've simply tried to justify your actions. SO I don't bother.

Okay, okay. No need to go overboard with the sarcasm. Besides, some of the folks on this board don't like Mother Theresa, and would probably say that such a comment is an insult to the woman at the well.

You want to be an asthmatic with hairy toes?

I didn't have a problem with your poll. It was somewhat amusing. Please don't think I was attackign you personally. I was just making a biblical statement which, I thought, you would have agreed with.
Wow, I NEVER, NEVER NEVER said that I didn't believe Hell was a literal place. You're referring to a thread regarding Hades and its translation as "Hell", when "Hell" and "Hades" are biblically not the same. For the record, I do, absolutely believe that Hell, being of eternal fire and torment, is literal.

    Gotta agree with Dr. Bob.

The plurality is right, and I suspect the "don't knows" are strongly in that direction.

    Couple of points ....

1 'America' is too small to e the kingdom of Jesus .. He is King of all and will be seen as such when He returns.

    2. Jesus does the electing, not needing to be eleced .....

    Regards

I could never believe anyone running for president was Jesus. If by some chance I was convinced it was Jesus, I would lose my faith.

Johnv, don't feel bad. Even I, though not by those in this thread, have been labeled a liberal here before. Every poll I've ever taken on the political spectrum shows me as very conservative bordering on fascism!

    You are in good company!

As far as this, I'm in agreement with KenH. I believe that His reign is now. We finally agree Ken. It just had to be away from the politics forum. ;)
