Pope: Israel should get rid of nukes.

Since the days of Pope John XXIII in 1963, the Vatican has called for a ban on nuclear weapons.

A half century ago hippies and beatniks called for a nuclear ban, not to mention a ban on soap and on couth. But I digress. Now New Yorkers say that Iran should be allowed to have nukes because they are a sovereign nation.

And the Vatican applauds that John Kerry sat down with the Iranians and pushed a deal through the UN and the US Congress (on a minority vote) that allows Iran to tell us if they have the bomb or not.

And the USA, now arrayed against Israel and in an alliance with Iran, has promised to fight for Iran if Israel tries to attack Iran for building up to drop a nuclear bomb on Israel. The heathen think that they will prevail.

So the Vatican also sides with Iran and takes a swipe at Israel by saying that Israel should rid themselves of all nuclear weapons (couched in the double-talking language of European diplomacy):

"Also deserving of support is the establishment of zones free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, especially in the Middle East."
