If we ever decide to stop subsidizing them, stop employing them, and stop apologizing for their illegal behavior, many will likely return to their countries of origin at their own expense.

That's the truth! It's a "can do" attitude I like. Those that don't want to return on their own can also be rounded up and sent home.

I agree wioth BIR (somebody shoot me) it is an impossible task to go rounding up every illegal. But what is not impossible is:

    1. To build the fence and secure it with guards
    2. To make it a felony to hire illegals
    3. Enforce the currentlaws on the books
    4. Deport every illlegal found
    5. Stop giving Criminal aliens social services.

Cut of the flow of money and they will go home themselves. At no cost to us.

They busted one of the largest dvd pirate rings in the country - 9 of the ten were latino (tenth may have been) and only five of them were illegals.

Our prison population is disproportionately Spanish. One County sent Pres. of Mexico a bill for the prisoners costs awhile back - still holding their breath for the check --- NOT!

News said estimates run around 3 trillion dollars if the 12-20 million get into the rest of the social services system - that is the COST that we need to worry about, not the small change to get them out of here.

The news said tonight there is a fair chance the bill will return to the Senate floor next week. Seems the Republicans are bending with the pressure.

I doubt this bill will get through. It stil has to go through congress which is even harder than the Senate. The American people do not want it and our representatives are being inandated with calls. Hence the reason for the difficulty.

The same people that are paying for them to stay. Only difference is a redirection of funds from welfare to law enforcement.

Deporting illegals might also have the side benefit of keeping a few more hospital emergency rooms open.

I agree with doing all of the things you mention and more. However, it IS possible to round up and deport all the illegal aliens. The first step is wanting to do it, the next is believing we can do it, the next is demanding that it be done, and the next is actually doing it. We're having trouble getting past the first two.

So this isn't going to save us any money?
    Not exactly a good plan.
As long as people pay them under the table, there is no way to combat illegal aliens. You can deport them multiple times, but they will continue to come back.

BTW, the POTUS is a fan of immigration reform, and if I recall, a proponent of the guest worker program.

The lawbreakers are hoping we will all have your attitude of hopelessness. They get real nervous when anyone starts talking about actually enforcing the law.

You are confusing "hopelessness" with realism. IMO, there is no difference between this issue and narcotics. As long as there is a market, we are not going to stop it.

    So, why bother? Right?

It's sorta like being a Christian. Some people won't accept the truth of Jesus Christ no matter what you say or do, so why bother telling them. Same attitude.
