Some here claim that all democrats on this board or anyone else who voted for Obama support abortion. I think it would be useful to have a poll to determine whether this is true. I'm not going to get into the finer points like what if the mother's life is truly in danger and the choice is whether to save the mother or the child. That muddies the issue. I'm simply asking a simple questio:

Do you support legal abortion in the US? Yes or no.

If you want to see the results of the question in your first two sentences, your poll should be, "Do you believe that, by voting for Obama, a person is also supporting abortion?".

Of course a vote for Obama was a vote for abortion.

Obama rabidly supported/promoted abortion before running and while running.

The first thing that he did as President was to fund abortions overseas.

How any sane or rational person can deny the connection between their vote for Obama and abortion is beyond all understanding.

Not that I can blame anyone for trying though - the guilt of it would get to me too.

I agree 100%. If you gave a gun to someone who told you ahead of time they were going to rob a store with it, would you be responsible?

Actually, that's not a valid poll. You're letting Republicans speak for Democrats. that happens here all the time and doesn't get at people's real beliefs only the mistaken beliefs others want to impose on them.In my poll, people speak for themselves.

Can't answer this. I did not vote for Obama, thus didn't support him. However, I'm not against him. He's the President. I'm against many of his policies that I believe are weak and unconstitutional.

But let me be clear. I am pro-life. Could not be more pro-life.

If you voted against Obama or would have voted against him if you didn't vote, I would consider you to be in the against category. That doesn't necessary mean that you don't support him as president. I should have clarified that in the OP.

Erm... what about the OP throws it out of the posting guidelines? Not trying to start a war, just curious, I really don't know.

I think we're getting stuck on the meaning of the word 'support'. Many folk feel that they're choosing the lesser of two evils when they cast their votes, so there's no way they can support everything a particular candidate is saying.

If we want to start picking nits about it, then we ALL are guilty of supporting abortion because we ALL pay taxes and some of those taxes go to Planned Parenthood. Should those of us that opose abortion revolt against our government and not pay taxes so we're not supporting abortion?

It depends...are you voting for a representative who supports giving tax dollars to Planned Parenthood or did you vote to oppose it.

The difference being that not all issues are moral issues.

And few issues rise to the grave moral level of abortion.

Voting is not required by law under penalty of imprisonment as is the case with paying taxes.

Additionally there is Scriptural support for paying your taxes even if you disagree with the use of the tax money.

At the fact that I can't seem to get anyone to agree that OTHER people have different thought processes, that SOME can vote for Obama in clear conscience. That SOME can vote for Obama and STILL be against abortion.

I am totally pro-life, as I've said many times before, but I choose to try to understand what the wayward liberal is thinking about rather than just damning him as being evil and letting that be it. There's much more to the story than black and white here. I agree it's wrong, but that doesn't mean we need to stomp our boots on someone's head and keep it pinned to the ground with all of our weight until they admit to being wrong. They never will if we try to strong-arm them into it, they need to receive prayer and LOVING advice from us while we encourage them to get their answers from God's Word.

The liberal media loves to show us conservatives holding signs like 'God hates fags'... or 'Thou Shalt not Kill'. Its in their agenda to widen the chasm further and further between us so they can get the government and leadership that THEY want and grind the church under their heel.

So by your previous arguments the administrators would have no choice but to say that anyone that votes for Obama is pro choice and therefore must be banned from this forum?

    How hypocritical would -that- be?

Life is hard aint it. But I tell you what when liberals on tisi board start posting about obama's position on abortion and speaking out against it with passion then I will believe that they have just as much concern about it as conservatives do. But the prominent position on abortion by liberals on this board is largely silence unless we speak about it then they feel a need to deflect blame by repeating the media matters talking points that falsely suggests conservatives have done nothing on abortion. Their silence further supports the fact that they support abortion.
