an eagle is not what I was addressing, rbell.

You said, 'if the tattoos were sin, were they not already covered by the blood?'

That is what I was addressing.

Getting them removed is quite expensive. Putting her in a denim jumper is much cheaper!

Amen!! And since the first amen was too short to post by itself, I will say it again, AMEN!

I guess he should proudly show them off like Jay Bakker.

I'm glad I never put any markings on my body.

Which does not change the rhetorical curveball you threw. Tattoos of naked women are not the same as tattoos of an eagle, cross, or flower. And you know that. You still offered a red herring argument.

    Leviticus 19:28 (KJV)
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.

I'm glad I have my tattoo picked out. I am getting it on my right arm. I still plan on finishing school and preaching the Word of God.

I guess I won't send an invitation to you when I graduate.

You must be one of those "progressive preachers."

Hopefully you will change your mind.

If this guy is not covering up his tattoos by the simple wearing of a long shirt, then imo, there is something very wrong.
This in itself, is showing his rebellious character, not the tatoos which cover his whole arms imo

He is attempting to draw undue attention to himself. His parents have plenty of $$, I bet he can afford to get those tattoos covered up.

He obviously has defiled his temple (his body) and wishes to show it off, and is now disregarding the modesty verses in the bible. That doesn't show much character if he is a man of God.

At least hanging with Joel Osteen you don't see the deliberate rebelliousneess reminding you to re-check your car alarm :BangHead:

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

1 Tim. 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array

    Do you trim your beard?
Do you wear modern clothes made of two fabrics?
When was the last time you or a member of your church offered a ram for a guilt offering?
When was the last time you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD?

Your opinion only. :) Until you can read into my heart, you don't really know me.

Not with anything you have offered here. If you are concerned for me or anyone thinking of getting a tattoo, offer real proof it's against God and his Word.

Until then, get off your box and stop judging people.

Other then him being a possible rebel (opinion) and him not preaching the correct Word of God concerning gay people, your whole post was simply your opinion.

Leviticus still works today. Except we don't have to offer sacrifices. Jesus sacrificing himself on the cross was the end to offering animals to God.

You sound like the non-christians who bring up the same things. They are all over the net. They have asked me the same questions.

    Joe's comments are correct.

Um, no, it is common sense. You have nothing to gain by going out of your way to resemble a gang member.

Either one are serious about the Great Commission or they are not. Maybe he is new in the Lord, so he will grow. It doesn't mean he is not a Christian, even with his views regarding homosexuality imo, but it certainly means it will hinder his credibility. Most people know his parents, know the family has $, so he can look decent. He likely chooses not to.

We are not talking about a few tattoos here or there.

My point is if you're going to post verses for me to abide by, and then in the same chapter you want to skip the parts that apply to you.. Seems one sided.

I believe Leviticus was not written to Christians, but instead to the children of Israel. The Law of Moses was done away with when Jesus died on the cross.

So, without that please explain how a Tattoo is wrong.

I believe Jamie is Christian. We just differ in our opinions.

And Jamie- The OT law wasn't done away with regarding Tattoos. We are to obey the law"in spirit" not just disregard OT law. I believe this means no tattoos but you can do what you want (Of course :))
