Being set apart for god's use means that I am His. I am his slave. I do the will of the master. It is not about the rules and regulations I set up but about who God is. When I humble myself before God nothing else gets in the way of my serving Him. He comes first.

Seeking personal holiness if just fine, this is what we are supose to do. But when persoanl holiness becomes a command to others then it is legalism. When one must follow anothers rules or convictions in order to be pleasing to God and gain anything from Him it is legalism. In grace we never have to earn anything from God. Any holiness we have is not our own, but Christ's, given to us freely,as unperfect as we all are, no earning it, no law, we are covered with His holiness.
