[*]Abortion becomes an undroppable monument of America's shame.

Isn't this already true with nothing really having been changed under the last three Republican administrations (8 years under Reagan, 4 years under GHW Bush, and 8 years under GW Bush)?

I personally would like to see a change in abortion law but McCain's not going to do it. This is a wash.

With the legislation making it's rounds through the Democratic Congress it will be forever out of the hands of the states to decide the issue of abortion. Plus it will become Federally funded from the first trimester through partial birth.
There have been bans on many types of abortions through out all Republican administrations.

Don't get me wrong - I do share some concerns - but don't believe this will be the end of America as we know it.

I agree Roger, I would like to see us reflect back on this post during his presidency if he is honored by our country to be elected.

If Obama is elected, I wonder if he can count on their votes for the second term if he doesn't live up to these expectations?

Oh, ok you are trying to assuage your conscience for your support of the pro abortion candidate. Well that is what happens when you are voting for your wallet. :tonofbricks:

Bans on types of abortions? All the Republicans do on abortion is use it to pander for votes every four years. They are as guilty as the Democrats.

No, what I'm saying that if it's obvious that neither candidate will change the status quo on abortion I will vote the second most important Sanctity of Life issue. That is to stop America from trying to rule the world by its military might and by invading countries without good cause or the support of our allies. I'm against the taking of human life in war unless its absolutely necessary. WWII was absolutely necessary. Viet Nam and Iraq were not.

Do you support the taking of human life in wars that are not absolutely necessary? If so, you're not really pro-life.
