(Denver-AP) -- Leaders of the Presbyterian Church U-S-A
will consider a third effort to repeal the mainline
    denomination's ban on gay clergy.
A committee meeting at the Presbyterians' General Assembly
in Denver has voted to send the recommendation to the full
    assembly.
The committee defeated a measure which would have left the
decision up to individual churches and regional presbyteries.
Those presbyteries have twice rejected the idea by large
    margins.
Opponents of the measure say another attempt to approve gay
clergy will further polarize the already divided denomination.

Why are they so keen to change the beliefs of others? If they want to have Gay people in ministry why dont they just affiliate with a denomination that is accepting of the idea?

    BenW,

Why would you expect people so destitute of ethics that they would openly approve the sin of sodomy to act in a fair manner?

Yes that would be right Mark.

I think it is an all to familiar story, instead of doing the hard work yourself and purchasing buildings etc it is easier to go and take buildings from other groups. I would really like to know how many groups could get these types of teachings of the ground if they had to found the groups themselves.

    Hey there an idea...

They could all join Rev Joshua's church in Atlanta, GA. [IMG]

The would, of course, be welcome; but I sincerely doubt that we have room for every pro-gay Presbyterian.

I don't think the General Assembly is trying to force anything on anyone (unless you think the "conservative resurgence" in the SBC was "forcing" fundamentalism on the SBC [IMG] ). They are simply using the established process of their denomination to right an old wrong.

Salt dipped in filth surely loses its flavor.
