As the commander-in-chief of these men that is a good thing for President Bush to do.

Bush needs a good photo-op; maybe he thinks it will improve his approval rating.

The basic problem is that both Repubs and Dems attempt to politicize the war for political gain.

Is Keyes even still running? He has less of a chance than Ron Paul does.

I see an occasional picture of him visiting the wounded, but we're told he does it quite often.

He has also visited personally with the families of over 1500 KIAs yet rarely is a word heard about it.

He's missing tons of photo ops. I doubt he's all that concerned about his "ratings".

    You might be correct.

My contention is that if he truly cared about the troops he would not have sent them into this useless war with a country that did not attack us.

And it's also the Machiavellian thing to do.

This is like a bully throwing a kid into a bee hive and then visiting him to see how his stings are healing.

No it's not. It's visting the men & women who were wounded after they VOLUNTEERED to go. He owes them, yup. But he far from threw them.

I hate it when folks who didn't serve puke garbage like this.

Remember, MP, that Hillary Clinton and other Democrats gave President Bush the authority to foolishly invade Iraq.

But to be fair, Republicans and Democrats, as well as most of us Americans were misled into supporting the idea of invading Iraq by neo-con propaganda.

    Now this is funny....

The King of Spain asks Hugo Chavez...."why don't you shut up?".....

    In Spanish, of course...

What do you suppose would happen if George Bush had said this ?

If you refer to me, you are wrong. I served my country proudly in the U.S. Army.

This is not the thread to criticize President Bush. He was merely honoring those who sacrificed for this country.

There are plenty of threads to discuss his inept policies, but not this one.

Either you do not know your history as you claim you do or you are taking part in a revisionism that is so much part of the left wong agenda you support so adamantly.

Of the many things I believe George Bush has done wrong, this is one that he has been consistently right on. He has visited and honored our troops, those still serving and the families of those who gave all. Remember he had even met with Cindy Sheehan before she had her break down. If you remember it was after that meeting that Sheehan was quoted in the press as saying about Bush:
Of course we all know what happened after that.

Does George Bush owe those wounded veterans a debt? You bet he does. So do we. They did not volunteer fight and die or sustain injury for him. They did it for their entire country, they did it for us.

MP, thanks for your service. I don’t think there is anyone here who thinks these soldiers served without honor. I for one do not see their sacrifice as a wasted or unnecessary effort but as a regular scheduled payment on the liberty we all enjoy.

    Two things,

MP, I humbly apologize, for my second statement, and stand by my first.

Second, I have no idea how my Hugo Chavez post ended up in here.
