    He won't.

But the other democrat alternatives are no better. They're all running on a platform requiring huge tax increases and ever increasing government control over our lives.

Edwards is just another rich liberal that wants to keep his money while he redistributes ours.

On this post, I agree 100%. No Democrat is good for our country, just like Giuliani and Romney. I strongly believe the Democratic nominee will win, not because that is my wish, but because of events over the last seven years.

Cato Scholar Comments on Edwards Health Plan

    Tuesday 04 September 2007

Michael D. Tanner, director of health and welfare studies:
John Edwards support for mandatory preventive care shows the danger of putting the government in charge of our health care. Do we really think Americans should be fined or punished because they failed to get an annual physical or some medical test that John Edwards thinks is necessary? At its core, the debate over health care reform is one about who makes the decisions in our lives—us or the government. John Edwards clearly believes it should be the government, not just on preventive care, but on a whole range of issues about how health care is delivered and paid for.

    And why is that?

He has the typical liberal elitest attitude that the "average" citizen is incapable of making decisions that are good for them, so the government has to do it for them.

And what makes us believe that most Republican candidates are really any different?

They aren't. Both major parties will eventually sign on to the idea of government-run health care. For instance, GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has already said that health care should be universal:

"Republican presidential contender Huckabee is surging in GOP polls, which is why he earned a prime Sunday morning slot on ABC’s “This Week.” But one had to do a double-take when the conservative endorsed “universal health care.”

Huckabee didn’t provide details of his plan, and he was careful to say that “we don’t want our doctors working for the government.” But he did appear to separate himself from the GOP pack when he said health care should be “affordable and accessible but also universal.” "

The reason is that Bush has been worse for our country than any Democrat could have been given the same circumstances.

This is a rare circumstance where we both recognize that Bush was bad for the country, both in ineptness and honesty.

This is the difference. You did not like him or any Republican in the first place. The reason me and a large percentage of Republicans and conservatives do not like Bush is that he betrayed the conservative ideals. He pandered to the Christian faith for votes.

In any other circumstance, we would be on opposite sides.
